so i'm in calgary, laying low at my parents' house, with minimal internet. it's pretty bangin'. i finally really met acetracer. i also got to see cherry. the only people i have seen since i flew to calgary are my parents and my brother. and my cousin. yep. oh, and my dying grandfather. rad.

my parents are going to put down my babycat this week. not mosley, he's my cat in vancouver, but genghis, who i sort of got for my 8th birthday way back when. he's just... well he's hardly the same guy anymore. skin and bones, i don't think he can see too well, and he's using the whole house as a litter box. they waited for me to come home so i could say goodbye.

well. i'm going to go spend some time with him now.

all my love,
mal-gary

I'm really sorry to read about your cat. You're lucky that you have an opportunity to say goodbye. I missed my dog by a day (natural causes), and I sure do wish I'd decided to drive up the night before instead of waiting to drive up in the morning.

I wish the right words existed. My best wishes to your whole family.

At least they let you say goodbye... my folks didn't tell me for a year that they'd put down my cat while I was in australia.

Man, it's tough to have to let them go. I always make an effort to be there with them when they do. I pet them and remind them how much I love them as they fall asleep. Nobody should die alone.
Now go give him some lovin.

I'd like to meet Acetracer, just to chat with him for a while. He seems awesomely intelligent but not smug about it, so I feel you could really have a good talk with him. I've seen Cherry three times this winter and she is awesome, great to chat to. Never long enough.

Poor Genghis. I hope he is peaceful.

That was a rough day when I had to put my 14 year old dachshund down. He was practically blind, deaf, had hepatitis and wasn't eating.

But you know in the end it's the best thing to do.

Best wishes.
