it's super snowy here... hilarious how this city just shuts down! i live in temperate, beautiful, coastal vancouver where it NEVER snows so the city really shuts down when it does! we have six inches or more right now and considering how much of it melted right at first, i think we've gotten record amounts considering the time of year.

that's what i saw when i woke up yesterday morning... my vegan treats lady couldn't make it due to the snow (veganmania has new christmas treats that needed photographing!) and the three biggest schools in the city were closed (ubc, sfu, langara) so all of my friends were home. i drank lots of tea and watched hedwig and the angry inch with rin and redmess, my beautiful and super-awesome roommates.

yesterday i helped redmess out with her midterm by being her face model - she's going to makeup school - and so that was fun, i got vegan cheesecake out of it which i then stirred into my hot coffee. oh god, cheesecake lattes have got to happen.

i'm currently looking into laser eye surgery... soon. I WILL SEE! i hope. gotta go for a consultation.

oh yeah. yesterday i broke my lens by accidentally flinging my camera to the floor while gesturing during conversation. it no longer screws into my camera. guh! if you have an extra base-piece for a canon lens (i've got the typical 18-55 that comes with the camera) or an extra canon digital lens lying around i would LOVE YOU FOREVER if you could help me out. i would make you a painting in return.

like this one!

That IS snow. Wow. As I've said, we break here in the UK when we get half an inch.

Curses. You have the worse luck with your camera.

Bummer about the lens.

I hate it when that happens.

thanks for the message...I think Akrasia posted a pretty good introductory link and I read some more on it. I really like the idea. I could get into a whole conversation about international trade and protecting economies. I think it's very useful in foreign policy considerations, which isn't really a suprise. Anyway, I enjoyed your article and glad I could learned something new. I certainly will be paying more attention in the future. Again, thanks.

yeah, it is less wide. Especially on the rebel and my 20d, only thing is, I never ever put it on the 20d cause I have a nice deck of 1.8 primes. It is a really cheap kit lens from my first eos camera, back when we dinosaurs were still shooting with that stuff they called film.

I think that Seattle is as unaware of how to deal with snow as Vancouver is. But we also have vegan cheesecake readily available so it's all ok. wink

Damn, I *still* haven't seen the Hedwig film. I even missed a local midnight showing of it within the last year. I suck!

Trust me I know... I lived in a very rural community in Mexico for about six months which was virtually ruined by Cancun. It's not exactly the same, but it certainly demonstrates what happens when people think about dollars first and people second. It honestly makes me sick. That's why I really appreciated your article. To think I would've continued supporting Coca-Cola Company. Grrr... Not to sound like a broken record, but seriously thank you. It's good to know other people think the same way. Unfortunately, I wish more of them lived in the US considering it is such a consumer culture and nobody cares where it's coming from just what it makes them look like to others! puke anyway... oh yeah, btw I checked out one of your sets... its was very nice, you have very well developed aesthetic taste, it comes through... anyway... thanks for the message... blush kiss smile
