it's super snowy here... hilarious how this city just shuts down! i live in temperate, beautiful, coastal vancouver where it NEVER snows so the city really shuts down when it does! we have six inches or more right now and considering how much of it melted right at first, i think we've gotten record amounts considering the time of year.

that's what i saw when i woke up yesterday morning... my vegan treats lady couldn't make it due to the snow (veganmania has new christmas treats that needed photographing!) and the three biggest schools in the city were closed (ubc, sfu, langara) so all of my friends were home. i drank lots of tea and watched hedwig and the angry inch with rin and redmess, my beautiful and super-awesome roommates.

yesterday i helped redmess out with her midterm by being her face model - she's going to makeup school - and so that was fun, i got vegan cheesecake out of it which i then stirred into my hot coffee. oh god, cheesecake lattes have got to happen.

i'm currently looking into laser eye surgery... soon. I WILL SEE! i hope. gotta go for a consultation.

oh yeah. yesterday i broke my lens by accidentally flinging my camera to the floor while gesturing during conversation. it no longer screws into my camera. guh! if you have an extra base-piece for a canon lens (i've got the typical 18-55 that comes with the camera) or an extra canon digital lens lying around i would LOVE YOU FOREVER if you could help me out. i would make you a painting in return.

like this one!

i have a 28-80mm canon lens i don't use anymore. But it's from a 35mm camera.

it will fit, but it might crop your picture a little bit

Sadly I cannot help. The snow looks so much fun! I miss snow- it hardly ever stays put down south where I currently live but when I was little I lived 'up north' and we would get great snow every year... down here public transport, schools, everying thing grinds to a halt even for muddy sleet. Make a snow critter for me!

Hey Cutie!

It cracks me up, when cities get all bound up by snow storms. Instant paralysis! Snow is beautiful . . and should be enjoyed, not feared!

I had Lasik surgery a couple of years ago . . . yay! I can see! My vision was 20-500 . . I was blind! I wore hard plastic contact lenses all my life . . and put up with limited wearing periods, scratching of my corneas, eyeball ulcers, etc. Thank God for Lasik!

Have a great day, Pretty Face!

ps . . what got you started on being vegan?

If I wasn't such a procrastinating jerk I'd be out there playing in the snow right now, but no, I am inside writing a report. Ughgh.
PS - I am sending powerful vibes to your hair, telling it to grow as fast as it can.

I wish it would snow like that here in Texas. It is funny watching people slam their Fords into each other...

One of the reasons I want to come back so soon is because I didn't really get to do much because of the snow. I really liked that it did, despite my grumblings, because it was my first snowy experience.

It was nice finally meeting you, hopefully we'll be able to talk more next time I come up.

Cheesecake in coffee? Yet again you impress me with a little simple delight that I never would have thought of!

Yes, we're snowed in here too. The snow-thaw-freeze combo put us down for the count.
