Squeek came home yesterday afternoon, and he's doing a lot better
(TMI details under spoiler)
I now have to keep him on medication to prevent it from happening again, and get him canned food to help out with it as well.
He's not quite back to his old self yet, as he is still in some pain from the...

I'm off to Anime North this weekend...thank goodness this was paid for well in advance, or I wouldn't be going! I'll have some epic pictures of the Fallout vault suits that my friend and I made sometime next week. Mine isn't quite complete (missing a Pip Boy), but it is still pretty damn sweet!
Post a comment if you'll be attending so we can look for each other!
My cat Squeek has ended up in the hospital overnight (TMI details under the spoiler), and my bill is already in excess of $600.
As most of you know, I'm in school at present and have no (reliable) source of income. So needless to say, I'm in some serious financial trouble.
If you wish to help me out, I have my prints for sale which can be purchased either through my Etsy shop, or my website:
Etsy Shop

...and my eBay Listings are here:

I have a Paypal Donation link through my website's Contact page, but I encourage the purchase of prints and eBay items over this option. All contributions are truly, truly appreciated!!!
I will be posting an update on his condition tomorrow evening. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that he will get better by tomorrow!!

Today I am a sad panda, as I am too sick to head on out to this wonderful Rue Morgue event this evening:

If you are in the Toronto area, don't miss this event! Looks like it's going to be a blast!
...and now on to the "for serious" stuff...
I finally went to see a specialist today about my chronic neck/shoulder/back pain. After some X-Rays, it turns out that I have calcification on my thyroid and trachea. The ones on my trachea look like rings. From my "expert" internet research team, lead by Wiki, she found that it is more than likely Parathyroid disease. There is a possibility of some slightly scarier diagnoses, but of course, we are both far from being doctors, so I'll just have to wait and see after the blood work and ultrasound results come back. Regardless, anything that Wiki and I found were all very treatable, though I will more than likely have to have surgery. Everyone cross their fingers for me!!
Some fantastic news is that as a reward for my "good behaviour" over the past few weeks, my b/f got me a DSi XL!
Speaking of which, I don't talk about this a whole lot in my journal seeing as it's fairly personal, but if you look at what SG Groups I'm in, it should be pretty obvious. I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder almost 2 years ago, as well as Clinical Depression and ADHD a while back. I've been attending therapy and taking ADHD meds since the time that I was diagnosed with Borderline, though no meds were prescribed for that. About 3 weeks ago, after suffering through months of heavy depression, I finally sucked up my pride and asked my doctor for some anti-depressants. According to the b/f and friends, my mood has improved significantly since starting them, and I am certainly feeling a whole lot better. It took a lot for me to admit that I might need medication, but I have to keep reminding myself that I can't do all that much about a chemical imbalance.
This actually relates back to the thyroid issue, as all of my psychiatric symptoms could actually be from a thyroid issue! How fucked up is that? It upsets me to think that I've gone through all these years of back pain, mental anguish, sleepless nights, and difficulties in school only to find out that a simple surgery could have taken it all away years ago.
Regardless, I'm getting it seen to now, and hopefully this means that whatever the issue is, it can be taken care of for good. I have to remember how much better I could be both physically and emotionally after this, and that perhaps I can have some normality restored to my life. There is of course a whole pile of speculation on my part as for the diagnosis, but at least I'm staying on the positive side of what this could be. Again, keep those fingers crossed!
As for school, it has been going well, though I am fast approaching the cut off for turning in my transcripts to the University. So, I will be spending the rest of this weekend finishing up to the "midterm" point of my English course. This is so that I can get a letter for that mark on top of the three other completed course marks that I'll be getting a transcript for on Monday. This all has to be handed in before May 12th, so I have to move my ass to get this stuff completed!
That's all for now, though don't forget to check out my Etsy Print Shop! Since I'm doing course upgrading and not college/university yet, I didn't qualify for a student loan. I'm getting right near the end of my upgrade courses, so my money situation is becoming a problem. Every little bit counts, so a huge thank you to those that purchase prints!

Wizard World Comic Convention tomorrow!!
I will be at the SG booth all weekend doing photo ops and signing autographs along-side some very sexy ladies!!
Geekery and sexy ladies...what more could one ask for?
...
- The cast did come off as planned...I don't know why I thought that I had it on for a lot longer the last time that I had this surgery. Perhaps it's because I've been keeping busy this time around!
- My kitteh Reaver spent lots of time with me while I was healing:

I took these pics on one of those bad "break-through pain" days (Tylenol 3's not working) where I ended up laying on the couch most of the day trying not to move! Having the company of my "snuggle muffins" made it better ![]()
- The ultrasound came back clear. I think that after all of these doctor visits with little to no results, I'm just going to sum all this up to stress. FML.
- I got an 85% in Chemistry class! Still waiting on my not so good Math mark though....I'll have to catch up in the summer.

My Chemistry project...name that molecule!! ![]()
- "March Break" finishes up for me in 5 days and I still haven't touched my e-learning! Arg! I'll get to it this week. I promised myself that I would at least get halfway through it so that I could submit my mid-term mark to college/university!
- Pokemon SoulSilver is great...though I can't believe that I'm still playing this sort of game at my age!
- I will finally be getting my hands on a copy of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (hurray for eBay)! I need more "M" rated games in my life ![]()
- I've gotten started on my Fallout 3 "Vault 101" cosplay. Yes...cosplay...at my age. I've had quite an itch to try my hand at prop making, so the Pipboy and other gadgetry of Fallout 3 are rather inspiring.
- Started watching House Season 6...almost caught up to the current airing!
- Spring Cleaning commenced last week. I am currently striving to become a minimalist, so I've been posting a lot of my collectibles on eBay:
eBay Auctions
Apparently I had forgotten about the fuck-tonne of YuGiOh cards that a friend gave me a few months back! I am currently in the process of sorting these motherfuckers into appropriate lots and "Ultra Rare" singles for zee eBay. It's a tedious process, but hopefully a profitable one!
- Print sales on Etsy have been frustratingly slow! Any ideas? Let me know!
Etsy Shop
- The usual MR set links are under the spoiler..give me some love!
- Last but not least, a picture of the pop machine ("soda" machine, for those of you that are further South) that resides at the laundromat that I go to...because it's funny:

Nom.
I hadn't really read all that much about it until today; I didn't realize that it comes with a little pedometer/mini game device! It's nice to see that Nintendo has very sneakily included something that will get gamers off their asses!

It's called a "Pokewalker". It communicates with your DS cartridge to transfer Pokemon, as well as with other Pokewalkers, which I can only assume is going to be for battling. People are going to have a fucking field day with these things at Anime conventions!
The part that I really like is the pedometer. You have to actually walk around to gain watts, which are currency in the game used to unlock new areas, and spent to use the "Itemfinder". Of course, I expect that some less physically active people are going to figure out ways to simulate walking so that they don't have to do it themselves! I imagine the constructing of something similar to a miniature paint mixer, or leaving it on an old washer, or attaching it to a vibrator....who knows, but the lazies always figure out some way to cheat!
Oh, and of course...the game play of the actual game (SoulSilver) isn't much to report on. This is a remake, so the game play looks to be basically the same as Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. This isn't a bad thing! I love Pokemon games, but I don't really think that there is anything more that they could really improve on; they're already great games!

I said that I would report back after playing Muscle March for the Wii, and here I am...reporting!
This game reminds me so much of Katamari Damacy...same sort of Japanese wackiness, an apparent obsession with zoo animals, quirky J-pop music, and a variety of strange levels and background action.
The game play is simple: make one of four "muscle" poses with the Wiimote and nunchuk to fit through holes in walls left by the asshole thieves that you are chasing. These guys stole your fucking protein powder! GIT EM'!

After catching up to them, you use the Wiimote and nunchuk to make very fast "running" motions to go in for a running-leap-tackle-takedown!

This game actually gave my arms a good workout...something which the website promoted, but I figured that they were just trying to be funny.
The game is extremely responsive to the Wiimote/nunchuk movements, so for those very last minute motions, it fucking works. This is something that I am not used to with many Wii games, and it was rather refreshing.
For an extremely short game, it actually gives you plenty of bang for the 5 bucks spent on it! It's a lot of fun, lots of laughs while playing, and it even has a multiplayer mode. Huzzah!
Oh ya, and I guarantee that you will feel at least 100 times more manly after playing this game....
