As much as I'm not fond of depressive ranting blogs following each other, I'm venting, feel free to skip this and head to my older blogs including the fun and the lurid pictures...
On Monday, I start getting calls that my maternal grandmother is MIA from family members. My parents, who refuse to answer the phone to us, runs the message through our account manager that she's "fine." On Wednesday, I get a call from my cousin: She, on a hunch, contact the cemetery where she owns a plot: My grandmother is buried. Date of death: May. My parents have been hiding this for six months. Cashing the care checks sent by family and keeping it, stealing thousands of dollars. Emptying out her apartment, filled with tens of thousands of dollars in jewelry and other valuables. Flat out lying. To me, to the rest of the family, stealing it all. As has been my brother.
The next day, I find out that my paternal grandmother had passed last week from another cousin. My parents lied and hid that from me as well. As did my brother.
I'm living in a bad movie plot.
I'm grieving for my breakup last week, for my grandmothers, for the family that I'm now cutting out this week. Drinking, smoking. Trying to process it all.
It's been a long week.

Holy shit... That is unbelievably fucked up behavior. 
"Family" should not behave like that and you are more than justified in stripping them of that title. I don't normally wish ill on people but your parents and brother are fully deserving of a some karmic backlash after this shit.
My deepest condolences for you loss, Maddigan. *hugs* This has indeed been a most trying week for you. I wish you much strength in the time to come.

Three holes in your Life at one time sucks big time.
If there's any consulation to it: the Feds & State
take a dim view of your folks activities and try to get
'barie place' time for such things.
In stead of dulling the pain, use it channel some rightous Rage.
It won't bring the grand-parents or their stuff back, but
it might give you the peace to let them go.
