two days left till i set off on my crazy trek! (this will likely be my last "real" post before i go!) i started a blog exclusively for my walk (ericadanger.tumblr.com), but ill still try to keep you updated as best i can! internet may be iffy in the middle of nowhere, so cross your fingers for me!


one of the last days for the next 6 months or so that fashion over function is just fine by me!

ive *almost* finished picking up the last of my supplies! (that came today -- just holding it makes me nervous!) id like to mention how absolutelyAMAZING Britchot, LordOlaf, &Andrew P. are -- they sent me some really generous &incredible gifts from my wishlist! also, i peeked before clearing everything out, &there are a couple more items some awesome mystery folks ((EDIT! 1sailor!)) picked out for me, too! im so stoked this has turned into a big community effort...youve all been SO unbelievably great in so many ways!!

other than all the last minute chaos going on, im still getting used to life with naked teeth!

I feel like this lately:


you know how stressful moving is? and planning a big trip? and quitting a job, with no prospects anytime soon? try planning for all of those at the same time.

walking across the country has been the most difficult thing ive ever had to plan, &will no doubt be the most difficult thing ive ever done. i leave in about a month, and my to-do list is still a mile long. (a mile? yeah. where does this come from? do people in every other country say their lists are "a kilometer long"? what is wrong with the united states?) i have the majority of my "main" supplies purchased (tent, sleeping bag, backpack, clothing), but im still lacking a lot of the smaller things (emergency radio, sunblock, water disinfectant, etc). im also planning a trip to costco with one of my besties this weekend, to stock up on as much bar-form food as possible. &i have one of those USB interweb connection stealers now, so that helps--best birthday present ever!

can i just tell you how fucking expensive it is to walk across the country? not that i wasnt prepared for that, but nobody believes me when i tell them ive spent over a grand on supplies so far. a grand! jesus!



im getting rid of a good amount of my belongings, to save space as well as to sock away a little more last minute cash. below is a list of cds id probably keep under different circumstances, but ones that didnt make the "please bury me with these" pile, &which im selling for pretty darn cheap.

&ALSO! in lieu of a new set, which i know would be great, but simply isnt feasible with the amount of free time im lacking, ill have new prints available for purchase in my cartfly store later this week. the prints that ARE available right now are on sale, too! (move quick, though, cos theyre numbered limited edition - once theyre gone, theyre gone!) unfortunately, i cant combine shipping if youre wanting to order both cds and prints, due to the way each is specially packaged. (&you dont want the cd cases scuffing up your prints, of course!)

spent a lot of time enjoying sweating:


went to warped tour and...

read some books on breaks &buses. evasion (anonymous), nina (blag dahlia), extremely loud &incredibly close (foer), free-range chickens (simon rich), &im still working on infinity blues (ryan adams) & the society of the spectacle (debord).

drove a few more miles on my scooter:


spent not nearly enough time with one of my favorite people, miss silencia, loungin, yakkin, &snappin photos:

fell asleep to some tv &tv-on-dvd, often with this little loudmouth:

currently waiting for season 5 of six feet under to come in at the library!

answered the door &talked to my landlord, forgetting i was wearing this shirt:


got my knuckles tattooed:

had a few other sessions here &there, but no body parts swelled up like my pinky there!

went to oakland to see the musical adaptation of green days american idiot (amazing), eat some amazing food, &visit some amazing friends!

found a new boyfriend in the singer boy from parachute:

but have mosly been eating all organic, vegan hippie food.

bought a ticket to see these fuckers:

who then cancelled the tour so kanye could "take a break." but ill see gaga on her solo tour...whenever they announce the dates!

would ya look at that...theres my boobs on the front page! whoohoo! pretty rad that the set went up on andy warhols birthday, huh? (i hope someone at HQ planned that, otherwise its a little too eerie!)



this set was an idea i had a-stewin in my brain for quite a while before AlissaBrunelli &i finally made some magic during the big vegas shoot-fest of 09. that woman is a genius, &i really can not wait to work with her again!





for those of you that didnt pick up on it, the idea of this set was to emulate mr. warhols infamous self-portraits, which feature different quotes of his. here are a couple of andys original images next to mine for comparison:



the rest of the set was meant to have a general 60s vibe, a bit reminiscent of edie sedgwick or twiggy, only, you know, naked.

its official. comic book conventions are WAY cooler than tattoo conventions. dont get me wrong, i love me some gorgeous body art &all, but nerds are SO much more fun! where else do you get to take a picture with a cute asian girl in a pikachu get-up, huh? comiccon in san diego was the biggest, best, &most fun convention ive been to yet!
