I saw this show, where this octopus was in this tank connected by a tube to another tank, which contained food. and it crawled through the tube and got it.
Then I saw one, two tanks in a room..they weren't connected. The octopus lifted the top of it's tank and crawled across the room, lifted the top of the other tank, got in and ate the stuff.
I also heard of one crawling down the sidewalk after leaving it's tank to get food in another room, not sure if that is true.
They are very smart, and very cool too.

Not to misappropriate Luxe's journal, but that Octopus show was one of the most amazing nature-things I've ever seen. The deep sea rocks. Octopuses are like curious kittens. But moist and boneless.

Now, back to lavishing our favourite 'badgirl' with adoration. Luxe is awesome. Look at those eyes!!

That said, I must selfishly baffle at the 'Joe Pesci' comment. Oh, injustice! (Unless, perhaps, one is a Joe Pesci look-alike...)

One of the SG models here (I won't say who) once IMed me an obscene photo of a Japanese woman having sex with an octopus. That sort of ruined all my cute notions of the octopus.

I thought about making an effort and then decided it wasn't worth it. I am, alas and alack, already digested.

I used to think that there was always tomorrow, but now instead of inspiring hope, tomorrow only fills me with dread.

Apparently an octopus is the smartest non-mammal out there. They're on the same mental level as dogs, I think. Which is weird for something all squishy and rubbery that's got suction cups, tentacles and a beak - not to mention the whole colour-changing/ink-squirting thing. And some are superpoisonous, too. There's this tiny little one (forget what it's called) that's all blue and yellow, and its bite can kill a full-grown human in about 5-10 minutes. Yikes.
