This cat has pretty much made my life, I feel the need to share it with the Universe!

The Great Gatsby comes out here this Friday! I can't wait, I loved the book and Baz Luhrmann is just killer with tragic romances, him and Leonardo Di Caprio can do no wrong in my eyes, I have a feeling the soundtrack is going to be pretty epic. Has anyone seen it yet? So psyched that Suicide Girls featured a picture of mine on Facebook from my set L'odalisque with regards to it smile It's a great compliment.

Anyway, since I have a new set coming in June I've decided to take City Of Gold down soon.

That's all for today

I feel the world is experiencing a severe case of archive fever, as I become more amongst social media, I'm increasingly aware of how humans seem to have a burning desire to preserve in some way, their memories. I found this blog which has had the energy and drive to succinctly sum up what I am trying to describe. The notion of archive fever is Derridean concept I first came aware of whilst studying and it's always fascinated me.

This blog is quite a beautiful example of the need for archive. The writer had written it pre-death and posted post-death, it's really touching to read.

The internet is a pretty glorious place where you can find things of wonderful meaning or you can just look at a picture of a lamb puking..

Well SG land, that's all from my brain at the moment, sorry for the quiet spell, I will try find myself on here more often and I will go to gym and paint a picture and bake a cake. K Bye.

Tattoo-a-thon is OVER! Holy shit-balls, the build up and then the day itself were utter chaos BUT outcome: SUCCESS! Raised a lot of money and me and the other apprentice now have a room where we can tattoo.

We got to customise our space, decided since it would be home to only female tattooists that it would be fitting to write 'bleed for me' on the wall, it makes me giggle so hard every time I see it. So I spent the week working/painting/stressing and have mastered the art of multi-tasking while listening to Fleetwood Mac a little bit too much, might need an intervention with my iPod...

The previous weekend I got my Mexican on hardcore which involved looking dead sexy with a beard.. (my moustache was so soft it was like having a baby cat glued to my face)

Anyway, I got a welcome break this weekend, after my cluster fuckery of a week I headed to White River early Saturday morning, it's a little town just outside the Kruger. I love being away from Joburg temporarily. Helps put things here at ease. I got to see a leppie mom feeding her babies which was pretty special now I'm home and my cats are sitting on my face as usual. Calm.

I've been entirely immersed in tattoo-land at the moment. The more I am actually tattooing the less time I have for anything other than nightly kitten cuddles. It's wonderful. I love being busy.

A client snapped this sneaky shot of me while I was working on his leg. This is full Lunar concentration mode 5000.

The shop is participating in an event next week for CHOC kids, we did it last year too. It's a pretty cool fundraising initiative and I'm pretty psyched to be a part of it.

I have recently had the pleasure of tattooing some of the lovely SA SG's, Kohana, Jeckyl and last week Hadess. Unfortunately as part of my contract I'm not allowed to put up pictures but I'm really grateful to have had their skin donated for me to practice on! Big love!

That's all for now. Here are my boobs smile

There are certain inexplicable things that never fail to make my heart beat faster. Beautiful art, a particular way a sentence is strung together and a song, the kind of song I want to spend all day playing on repeat. These things come along often and I'm always astounded at the excitement they bring.

The music that is doing that to me at the moment is Thomas Feiner and Anwhen, All that Numbs You, the combination of that line and his voice are just too lovely.

I had a dream I was a unicorn human hybrid, white horse legs and a human torso with a perfectly fitting horn. Woke up a little sad that it was all in my head, things seemed quite simple being a magical made-up creature.

I've been enjoying Kent Williams's artwork at the moment, I love the way he handles skin.

As far as real life is concerned I've gone back to pole dancing, I had forgotten why I loved it but I remember now.

I got more work done on my tattoo, decided I wanted full colour.

Had probably the best Valentines of my life with my sister, talamia, Tarion, Kohana and a couple of other people. We went to 'Ed's Diner' which is a restaurant in total retro 50's American diner style, everything was 'in character' from the decor to the music and menu. We all had to bring a secret Santa Valentine gift bought from a porn shop. Was pretty darn hilarious. I got a latex spanking skirt from my lady Tarion haha love

Alright, that's all for tonight, I'm off to dream about unicorns and seals and white sanded beaches where only wonderful things can happen xx

Hello Kittens! Thank you for the love on my set "City of Gold" as usual I am grateful and humbled, I still blush when I see what you have written. lovelove

I dug up some of my university art work and found this:

zoom image

It says "If you don't have a sense of humour get the fuck out of my house" I was glad to find it, its particularly relevant to the place I am right now. When I think back on this past year and all that has happened I know keeping a sense of humour has kept me light when things were almost inevitably dark. I decided the other day to write a blog, I'm still unsure of it but maybe I will share it in the future. It's a dark comedy of all the things that have happened leading up until now. I think there is a lot to be said for finding the funny in even the most dire of situations.

I went to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers a while back and LOOK who I found!!!!!

Pyke!!!! She is just the loveliest creature inside and out and happens to have a sextastic set 'Bittersweet' in member review. So much love for her!

Look at my Fugly friends! haha kisskiss

As for the concert, I wasn't the hugest fan but I tried to get into it. The first song started and I swear to God I had never heard it in my life. All my friends were going wild so I attempted to sing along so I wasn't a party pooper. Eventually I looked at my sister with a blank face and she said "Do hand actions when you fake sing, makes it more believable" #samepersondifferentbody

I got to see my lady Tarion and Pyke again on Saturday neither of which will ever stop being a treat for me! Got our dress up on, I was Hello Kitty, Tarion with her awesome green hair (Oh I wonder who did that for her? wink) was Ramona Flowers love

I'll love and leave you with a photo of Frank the moron dog, she got her head stuck in a tub of yoghurt yesterday, greedy thing. (and I'm not being mean, I freed her several times and she kept insisting on shoving it back in there)

I have pug panties! Pug Life level 5000!! I'm letting this blog just be a mind-dump because I feel like I need it smile

My friend has just adopted a rescue pug called Molly, we went to visit her the other day and she is just a delight.
zoom image

My Frank has taken to falling asleep in my arms, she's changed so much since we first got her, she's not scared anymore she's a bossy bra-eating sweet heart.
zoom image

I'm trying to fill this year with new experiences, I played laser tag this weekend with Tarion and it was the most fun I have had in a while. I think the ability not to take yourself very seriously is important. We lost horribly to a bunch of children but it was cool to do something different.

Anyway I watched the documentary When We Were Kings about the famous fight in Africa between George Foreman and Mohammed Ali. I'm not sure why since I'm not really 'amongst' boxing but it was completely fascinating and launched me into an obsession with Mohammed Ali. He was the most arrogant, unapologetic man but it seemed to work in his favour, I've been reading some things he said and it's hilarious. These were my favourites:

"I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was."
"If you even dream of beating me you’d better wake up and apologise."
"It’s hard to be humble, when you’re as great as I am."

I don't know what triggers memory or why, it's such a strange concept that some things even in the short term can be disregarded from your head but other events for not particular reason remain with you. I was doing aerobics today with this crazy man who terrifies you into trying your best while sweating to chipmunked versions of Ricky Martin and Bonny Tyler when I remembered an event from many years back, I have no idea why it came to me but it amused me so I'm going to share it.

At my great grandmothers funeral an old man - I mean close to 90- came up to me. I thought he was going to offer me his condolences but he said "if I was 20 years younger I would take you to bed" It was one of the most ridiculous things anyone has ever said to me and it still makes me giggle.

The last thing that's been going through my mind that I want to share is this poem by E.E Cummings, I found it the other day and it speaks to me:

I like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh … And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

Good night

Hello Kittens!
It's 2013 and I've launched straight back into busy-mode.

This weekend I went hiking at Mountain Sanctuary, it's really nice to get out of Joburg or I feel like I end up doing the same stuff over and over.

zoom image

The walk was short but pretty to these amazing rock pools with perfectly clear water.

zoom image
zoom image

We set up a slack line over the water which is similar to a tight rope I ruined the photo though being an ass hat

zoom image

And of course I got to spend a whole day with my besties who are always a win.

Lesson for this week: have adventures.

Anyway the queue got a re-shuffle so my set is now coming out on 7th Feb. Enjoy wink

I'm home from Zanzibar. It really was the perfect end to what's been a hard and testing year for me.

We arrived at the airport before sunrise, too excited to be tired. I thought it would be a good idea to just not sleep that night. It wasn't.

zoom image
zoom image

So halfway to Zanzibar about an hour and a half into the journey the captain announces that there is a problem with the plane and we have to now go back to JHB cos they can't land in Zanzibar. I'm already a nervous flyer as it is so understandably I was now in a panic. So we flew back home, landed, they fixed the plane and we started all over again now 3 hours behind schedule, we decided to drink. One cider and too little sleep and a lot of fear and I passed out until we arrived and was greeted with the most beautiful island.

zoom image

There were 12 of us in total, I didn't know everyone but after the first night together I fell instantly in love with them. Turns out the girls were very much like me. Girl-boys without issues, a bad sense of humour and dirty mouths.

zoom image

On the Monday half the team went diving and the rest of us decided to go on a banana boat, a decision I would instantly regret. It was god-damn terrifying hurtling behind the boat knowing that at every turn they were going to make sure we were thrown off despite my begging. Anyway I have a shin bruise the size of my hand as a result. When we were heading back to shore something magical happened though, we were met by a pod of dolphins, suddenly they were just everywhere so we dived off and I swam with dolphins for the first time.

zoom image

There is something calming about being at the sea, I believe that because we are largely made up of water we can feel the push and pull of the tides when we are close and it balances you. There is another grounding effect that happens when I'm surrounded by such an untameable force of nature, the same experience as seeing a sky full of stars I am reminded that I am small and insignificant and most importantly mortal, it's realising that that I know I have to make the most of my time here with the people I love, let go of hurt and unhappiness and live.

In the middle of the week we took a day trip to prison island to see the giant tortoise sanctuary and afterwards they took us to a sandbank island where they made a beach braai.

The rest of the week was filled with sea-swimming, silliness, late night pool swims, card games and too much drinking and boat rides. I convinced my sister to be Patrick Swayze because I was dying to be Baby in the pool, after many a face plants I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE

zoom image

I took these with my underwater film camera. If you look closely you can see dolphins. That was from the second time we found them. We went out on a boat trip and BOOM fucking dolphins again everyone in the water! This time they swam right up close to me, there were 2 that were dancing and playing. I'm so lucky holy crap.

zoom image

The last night was probably my favourite. It was 'the end of the world' so we decided to party until we wished the world was over. We started out on a cruise into the sunset on a dhow.

zoom image

We sailed and drank. I played the drums like a true moron and danced with the captain of the ship, I tried to booty hop and his mouth was on the ground, I take the prize for worst dancer of all time.

zoom imagezoom image
zoom image
zoom image

We came back to a beach party, cheesy music and sweaty dancing until the wee hours and so my holiday ended with a naked swim in the sea under the moon, one of the nicest experiences I've had.
