“Bibliophilia or bibliophilism is the love of books. Accordingly a bibliophile is an individual who loves books. A bookworm is someone who loves books for their content, or who otherwise loves reading. The-ia-suffixed form "bibliophilia" is sometimes considered to be an incorrect usage; the older "bibliophilism" is considered more correct. The adjective form of the term is bibliophilic. A bibliophile may be, but is not necessarily, a book collector.”

I grew up in a house of readers. We could quite happily sit in companionable silence reading on Sundays for ages. Our house was always covered in books. I suppose it was inevitable that I ended up so inclined.

I don’t always read good brain nourishing stuff. Mostly it is escapist fare, things that transport me away from this world. I suppose if I wanted realism I would simply look at the world around me, I wouldn't need to read about it. Of course, this is just my funny preference; I imply no less worth to these books. There are many such books more than worthwhile to digest. But I am a romantic and imaginative person; I love fairy tales, fantastical creatures, magic, the supernatural, and mythology the most.

I also enjoy books completely at the other end of the spectrum: reference material. I have a lot of books on diagnostics, pathology, natural medicine and a few on Yoga, Pilates and martial arts. I have enjoyed these much more since I finished studying and am no longer obligated to read them but I can do so at my leisure when the feel like it.

Be it fluff or substance I am never without a book.

I always had to keep a massive bag with me big enough to hold a book. I read in queues at the banks and at supermarkets. I love reading in cars: sorry if the thought of that makes those prone to travel sickness a little bit green. I might even say I prefer books to most people.

I won't ever stop buying books but my poor back will be happy that I no longer have to drag around the tome that is Dances with dragons. I now can carry around 10 books at once when am not at home since I got a kindle. I generally still buy the books I love too so I can enjoy the tactile pleasure of holding the actual book in my hand when I am at home curled up on my bed. A kindle will never smell like a book, a kindle won't have the slight timeworn pages and faded illustrations, the small birthday message on the front page penned by a loved one.

I am glad I finally got to make a set involving my love of books. Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my new set.

It makes me so happy I get silly and that results in talamia and I making butt wiggle gifs:

I am about to hop on an aeroplane, to see some of the people whom I prefer vastly over books. Here is a pic of me Skyping with two of them: Tarion and Talamia

Lastly my friend a made me do ashtanga yoga for the first time yesterday and she killed me and so it became this:

I thought I was pretty flexi but I got schooled. I want to do loads more of it, it was great.

It goes without saying, but really, it should never go without saying, that you look wonderful in Bibliophile. However, I find myself obsessing over that stack of books in your closet door frame. What happens if you want to read a book near the bottom? Do you pull it out and let everything above reshuffle in a sort of library Tetris? And when you return the book, do you jigger everything back up, or slip it into an open slot at the top to eventually work it's way back down subject to the Brownian motion of your reading habits?

I do not read nearly as much as I used to. I used to collect 'cheap' books. My computer/internet/gaming has taken over a significant chunk of my former reading time. I recently got an iPad and have not been able to get into reading on it. I just ordered several more books from bookcloseout.com and just love, like you said, all of the sensations that go along with a physical book. I also am drawn more towards escapist stories, but if they still make me think, imagine, wonder, etc..., I think it's all good.

I am terribly unbendy. But, I was thanked yesterday for being flexible. wink
