Hello, loveys. Two updates in a few days...I'm spoiling you!



I wish I could have made it out to the burlesque, but alas my personal life and finances are both big, boggy messes right now and I decided to take a sabbatical from the whole 'leaving the house' thing unless it's absolutely neccesary.

In retrospect, I'm kicking myself for not going.

Would anyone be interested in a Lucy Brutal calendar? I was thinking of putting one together and selling it, but I want to make sure I have enough people interested in buying one before I go to all that effort. I have a kickass photographer for it, and it will be incredibly awesome.

I've been writing a lot. It's quite cathartic. I'll post some if you kids show me some of your work. Art, writing, whatever...just show me what your talents are.

I have a busy week ahead of me.
Tomorrow I'm going for fittings for the fashion show Martini is putting on in a few weeks. If you local cats would like to see me lumbering down the catwalk, drop me a line and I'll send you the show info. After that, I am attending the SG Burlesque at Lee's Palace. Then, I have a weekend full of makeupy things...I'm working the Toronto Alternative Fashion week and the Flash fashion shows, making people pretty. Still to come in the next few weeks: more makeup work, modelling, seeing my cousin Arden, the Hellogoodbye concert, more modelling and makeup work, Holloween parties, SG coffee nights, the Toronto Zombiewalk, zombie movie night, and spending any free time I have with a certain crazy cracker that makes me smile.

I need a datebook, badly...

I love doing makeup and hair.

I cut and dyed my beautiful roommate Red_Vinyl's hair tonight for her, and gave her a makeover.

What I learned today, or Lament of the Fallen Tunafish

If your roommates have two cats, and you are in the kitchen making tunafish sandwiches, said cats will come out of wherever they were hiding from you before you opened the can and run to your side, pretending to be your friend.

This, I learned today, is a dirty, dirty cat trick, diabolically designed to rob unsuspecting humans of their sweet, sweet tuna.

I think that the reason I like High Fidelity so much is because Rob Gordon is such an imperfect hero. He's the protagonist and the antagonist, the hero and the villain. He's constatnly fencing with himself and I think that the only way to truly meet your match, you equal, is to fight yourself...your own demons, fears, personality flaws.
All too often, I find myself to be my own biggest roadblock.

I think imperfections are the true measure of one's beauty

I always did like the villain better. I found them more interesting, in all the stories and movies and fairytales. Not a real surprise, when you think of it. We are conditioned to behave the way we should. There need be no other reason for one to do the right thing, other than the fact that it's the right thing to do. But you need a damned good reason to do the wrong thing.

In life, to what point do the means justify the ends?
