i must be going nuts. last night in my sleep, i set my bedside clock an hour ahead - because in my dream, i had a job interview and had to 'set my alarm'. luckily it was actually a cool thing, as i was planning on going to work early this morning anyway - so i was able to get there even earlier. but it's just odd because to my knowledge, i've never done things in my sleep before. besides talk.
just now, outside of work, a 12 year old driving a stolen car and being chased by cops crashed into the hardware store directly across the street from us. as soon as we heard the crash we all ran outside to see what happened, just as this fucking kid was being handcuffed up against the cruiser and thrown inside.
jesus fuck. when i was 12 i got my thrills by making out with pillows at sleepover parties..

i just got back from vacation, and i actually have a tan! my tanline is funny though.. i love bikinis with hot-pants bottoms, so my entire ass is lilly white. heehee.
and, early on a beautiful sunday morning, we actually pulled off a set on a public beach! i can't wait to send it in...i think it's great! (how's that for some major suspense) now i am even more anxious for my *first* set to go up!!

This weekend and the next will be tons o' fun! UK Punk cover show on Friday night, the New Botanical Gardens on Saturday afternoon, and partying with The Boys from County Hell at night..
Yay! and Sunday I'm shooting promo pictures of them against some grimy industrial backdrops. NEXT weekend is Miami!! I'm going to South Beach to do an SG set!

..ya know, there's something that just feels weird about seeing a "legendary punk band" play a show in the year of 2003. saying you saw X in 2003 isn't the same as saying you saw them in '80. you feel really young when you see a band like that in 2003 for the first time. earlier this year i was in the UK and saw Stiff Little Fingers in london, and the Rezillos in edinburgh... both shows were amazing, but i was surrounded by balding men. balding men who knew all the lyrics. and sadly, i don't think there are any bands to come from my own generation that will *still* be playing in like, 2020, and i'll be able to look back and say "well hey, i saw them in '97!". sigh, this is a crappy time to be young.

got a drumkit this week. i'm teaching myself to play. it's addicting. and i think it's coming to me really naturally.
i've already pissed off the neighbors, at least.

today was a gorgeous sunday. i took my dog to the icecream shop for a little vanilla cone.. she loved the damn thing. i think it was as enjoyable for her to eat it as it was for me to watch her eat it. heh. these young boys had a lemonade stand in the parking lot and i bought a lemonade from them. a well-spent twenty five cents. it just reminded me of myself and my brother when we were little and it made me happy to see... back then we only charged ten cents, though. aahhh the good old days when lemonade from the lemonade stand only cost a dime. hehe.
it seems like all my friends are musicians.. it's kind of inspiring to me. i only started playing my drums a few days ago and already i'm listening to music with a different appreciation. i think when you love music, but don't know how to play anything, you sometimes take for granted how amazing it is that four or five people can bring different sounds together so perfectly. i mean, if you don't think about it, you'll still say... damn, that's a great song. but if you think about it more... it's a new appreciation.
