You definitely summed up the situation in a more elegant manner than I did. You should post that in the thread. All other political issues aside, they are arguing illogically..

First, it makes absolutely no sense to equate a person with significant objections to the war as an "America Hater." How can I have a meaningful discussion with someone who holds these views? I'm not calling anyone stupid... I mean, it's obvious that they are intelligent. The only conclusion I can make is that they choose to ignore reality in order to fortify their ideologies. arrrghh..

Secondly, what's the fucking point of even comparing the situation in mid-east to that of the United States? It's disturbing that the person who made those comparisons actually admitted the U.S. was just as bad as Iran, Iraq, and Saudia Arabia with regard to multiple issues and then asked "are we fascists or are we fighting fascists?"... basically admitting that it's not a black and white issue, then immediately turning it into a black and white issue.

Ya know what? I think U.S. "leftists" get it. I don't agree with "leftists" on a number of issues, but at least they realize this: they live in a fairly democratic nation and, therefore, it is meaningful to concentrate on the wrongs perpetrated by their own county b/c they actually have a chance to change those issues.. to make things better. It is absolutely meaningless to concentrate merely on our enemies while giving our elected leaders a free pass.

yeah, basicly the deal is you cant "rent" out a beta fish in a little bowl for your table... and if you want, you can get a few, set their bowls next to each other, and watch them try and fight one another.... and hell, if you want to get creative, you can evem put them in the same bowl, because after all, its a bar, and alchole makes people do silly things,, and they are cheap ass fish that cost them like maybe a dollar,, so if they die,, so what,, buy a new one...
