LIU SAYS: “When we were doing this set, my friend Nicolletta and I thought of doing one inspired by Flash dance, the movie. But time changed some stuff. At the time I was watching many movies of the 80s. And dance room, rock, pop and all styles inspired a good reason to create, based on this theme.

When nicolletta asked me about the set's name, she was at my house watching my books, my spaces, my eyes and my spirit.
I told her that she better decide the name. I believed that she could see in me,my books, my paintings.The 1980s kitsch inspired artists and characters are some of the most indicated to portray myself. My own sailor tattoo is a drawing from Gilles.Influenced by all this magic, brightness and spirit, we decided to finally call this set as my favourite artists, Pierre et Gilles
