There she goes
barbarically bare toed
Eyes burning from the sun
While morning angels rise from steamy gutters
Gotham city won't heal these wounds
destination, Just here
going somewhere just in her mind
even though somewhere may be nowhere
defiant fingers bring orange light resurrected
sleepy orphans awake in the cardboard love
some of us were just born orphans
She continues the conversations with the ghosts of morning

Love, Lil

some of us were just born orphans

or, adopted with a hole that doesn't get plugged up properly or too long by anything. maybe that hole is just me, but i'll never know until i find out who my parents are.

saw 'broken flowers' the other night, i've been thinking a lot about the people who share my blood that i've never seen...

i have a german last name, a no german blood. that's always been something that has bothered me, however irrational it is.

Boy those last four lines make that a
very strong poem,
Charles Olson used to talk about being
an archaeologist of morning,
and that would sure wake me up.

I just hope you are collecting this stuff, Lil.

Do you ever get that Kerouac itch
and feel the need to experience first hand
those railroad yard, end of continent Blues
I would sure like to someday soon talk to you.
I'm getting closer and closer to restarting a zine,
because of you, and this poet from Palestine,
and this longshoreman from Boston, and what
a good number of powerful writers have to say
in what is, I don't know why this isn't obvious,
a death struggle for the life of America going on
all around us every day.

Anway anything within my own limited resources
I can do to help you, I hope you know you can
just ask. I am a non violent Christian Buddhist
anarchist, and so want to make that clear when
I say I am also 63, with one bad lung, and want
very much before I pass to turn over all my
ammunition and anti-facist weapons to
tough and free marksmens like you. That you are gorgeous, by the way, is frankly distracting.
Beauty is welcome, mind you, as long as they
don't stick junk inside it. And where would that
be in America, Mr. Jones?

I just felt inclined to write some responce... It is just a habit of mine to pretend I was there when I hear a fun story it backfires alot till people know me...

p.s. I like your way of wording, keep your head up girl.

Good poem and good imagery. I am right there with you, except I wasn't raised an orphan. Now I am.

Do you know Jim Tully's writing.
Hobos for Life, Circus Parade,
A twenties guy whose edges are wild indeed.
Somebody started in reprinting him a few years
back. Early fascinating road books. Hoboes
was big; I liked Circus Parade more.

I'd like to send you a few things we have done.
Where is a good pick up address for you.
Is there such a thing? I love you too, Lil
I'm 63, carry a portable oxygen lung, an old
ILWU card, and dreams of women life you.
