As many of my Facebook friends have noticed, my husband and I are no longer together. It has been awhile now, and a long time coming. We have become too different I suppose. We couldn't find a way to both be happy at the same time. We tried for a long time, but there's only so much suffering a person can take before they realize the futility of the situation.
It was indescribably difficult to be severed from the most important relationship of my life, removed from our home we spent so much time creating together, filling with memories - the most overwhelmingly painful experience of my life, but I know now it was for the best. I'm so grateful for the years we spent together but, sadly, it's time to move on, and I know it's what we need.
So now I'm trying to celebrate the good things, instead of mourning the loss.

I'm pretty excited for 2009. I changed a lot last year. It was really hard at times, but I feel like a new person. I actually feel like I can accomplish things. It will be a big year.
Perhaps I'll write a better entry later... I am off to spend more time in the real world.

I even got my own thread in Ass Appreciation! Haha.
I think I might start shooting sets for myself more often if this one gets accepted. I still have a pile of other girls to edit, so maybe not for a couple months, but it seems like a good idea.
Also, I shot some new photos of myself and am going to sell some signed prints soon! I'm only going to print a few of each, so if you are interested maybe bookmark me or something so you don't miss the sale! I'll post here when they are ready.
Here's a couple shots I took in Vancouver:

This entry is dedicated to the Trailer Park Boys!! Ya know what I'm sayin'?
So, the SG Night the other night was pretty fun. Highlights include...
Also, new set in Member Review!:

Now... Don't you have some off's to fuck?
- New set in Member Review! This time it's Tiffini! It's been awhile for us both, hope you enjoy it!:

- Thanks for all the Happy Birthdays (and all the other comments - I wish I had time to reply to them all)! I had a really nice day, and got some sweet presents, like a new iPhone! It's really been handy for work, and it's pretty neat-o for music and other fun stuff as well. I haven't even owned an iPod, so it's a big deal I guess.
- If you have sent me a message lately I will reply, so be patient!
- Your questions from my second last post:
Q: What things in life make you feel like... the sun is rising?? For me anyways, things growing, the sun rising, certain songs they all make me feel ridiculously giddy and passionate about being alive and all that mumbo jumbo. What does it for you?
A: Waking up. Blue sky. Spring. Discovering something new and awesome... like a band, coffee shop, photograph I like, or idea for a project/shoot. Meeting nice people.
Q: Being that it is now September and the end of 2008 is growing ever so close. Will we be seeing a 2009 calander from you?
A: I never got around to shooting new photos for a calendar. I suppose it's not too late, or I could use existing photos, but I'm not sure if I will or not. Last year I got a lot of requests for a calendar that was only photos of me. Would any of you be interested in that?
Q: I wanna know what the Gods told you when they gave you a camera for the first time.
A: My first camera what from my grandma when I was in grade 2 or so. I think the gods told me to stop putting my fingers in front of the lens! I eventually learned not to do that.
Q: if u could only have one food for the rest of your life what would it be...and The Onion doesnt count
A: Hmm... well I would probably say some kind of really awesome organic salad. Awesome salad is hard to find though.
Q: If you could shoot 5 current SGs that you've never shot before, who would they be. And why?
A: I'm going to pick 6 instead! Amina, because she is professional, a bit crazy, and I've never shot anyone like her, and probably never will (unless it's her). I think it would be an interesting collaboration. AnnaLee, because she is unique, mysterious, expressive, and has lovely eyes. Frankie, because she's nice, a great model, and really pulls off her look. I'd like to see what would happen if my style and hers combined. Gadget, because I'd like to meet her, and I'd really like her to have a new set. Lonnie, because she's a great model, and is kind of expressive and haunting, like AnnaLee, but in a different way. Rigel, because of her boobs, obviously. And it would be fun. I'd like to see what she's like in real life.
- Oh yeah...

Thanks everyone!
I will be in Vancouver from September 25th until October 2nd. If you would like me to shoot a set for you or hire me for other photos, send me an email (lavonnesuicide@gmail.com)!

I've also decided to start booking weddings again. Maybe only one or two per month though. So if you know anyone who is getting married in Western Canada (or will pay travel expenses to somewhere else) send them my way! I have a sample gallery I can show people, though nothing on my main site yet.
I have been really busy! No time to reply to your comments on my last entry, but next time for sure!

I'm starting to think my photography is getting good. I'm pretty critical of myself, and usually hate my work pretty soon after shooting it. It's a bit less now though.
I'd like to start focusing on some kind of style but I don't know what. I'm sure I have some kind of style, but it's pretty all over the place. Or maybe just some kind of project to focus on? I had an idea ages ago (I think I was 16) to shoot a series pretty much exactly like this one but never did. Then I came across that and was discouraged. Maybe I'll still do it one day, just to see how different it turns out? I really love glass. Maybe you have noticed?
I came across this photo just now and was really impressed.
Ask me a question! I will answer all of you in my next post, but I reserve the right to make up some ridiculous bullshit.
Meshell's new set in Member Review isn't picked yet, so if you like it leave some comments!

Also...
Thanks to everyone who has bought prints recently! I greatly appreciate it. I haven't raised the prices yet, but will soon. I decided I would do that the next time I add new work.
