Hi, Andrea! No doubt Kony is a devil and must be fought but this "Kony 2012" campaign that is floating around has two sides and both must be known. I received this link through twitter and thought I should share. The person seems to know what he's talking about.

Sorry, but in my opinion this is a tacky idea. I think there are better ways to show support to a cause than a psfb shot, and this just seems like you are getting caught up in the hype. At least pick an organization that gives more that 31% of it's donations to the cause it claims to fight for. Here is theirfinacial statement from last year. Also the fact that the group suports the Uganda army, which has also been accused of raping and looting themselves, should be of concern.

I have to go back and click the links to see the pics. I just wanted to tell you I love that you are wanting to be a part of Kony2012. I just got finished posting about it and hope that everyone takes a moment to watch, share and lend a voice- whatever. I plan on being more active with invisible children and looking into roles I may be able to fulfill with amnesty International or One.org and Global Angels.....

I have looked into ICK and hear the arguments that question their relevance. My soul feels that you don't get access to film that which the world has never seen by allowing your enemies to know - you are no friend of theirs! The pictures with soldiers are visible in the video, you don't get to bring a labor of love to fruition for free and do we ever REALLy know what portion of donations go to what???? Cancer in general has no cure?! How many trillions of dollars have gone into that research?Do we stop giving, stop walking, talking about it or fighting??

Amnesty International Just because THEY are supposedly not as active- how can we justify not bringing justice, how do those affected have a true moment of peace without the threat looming??? It's a WORLD waking up and saying- WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE< ANYWHERE- ANYMORE!!!! that is worth it's weight in GOLD!

Then by all means suport a group that supports an army that rapes and loots as well. And getting your material from the same people that are under criticism in the first place is not making an informed decision either (even though I gave you more than one).

I can totally respect that. Please understand that I was not meaning to troll you, even though I do admit that I do come off antagonistic (just my nature I guess). Our generation , which is now totally integrated into wired social media have become what I like to refer to as fauxtivist. Feeling that they are saving the world just by reposting a video, or press like on a post. So after years, it is easy to become a cynic to these kinda things. You seem to talk the talk and walk the walk, which is better than most. Very commendable
