Et voilĂ ! Life is a cabaret!

I'm fascinating by analogue photography: the fact you wouldn't be able to delete-and-redo what you've done, that you only have a chance to take that good picture, the await for the image to slowly appear on the film... all this makes it so magical. Also, that is 100% me, my posing and acting skills, and photographer's ability - no retouch, no editing, nothing.
These were taken from a friend of a photographer who hired me to shoot with optic bench something like a month ago, so basically they're snapshot of an actual photo-set inspired by the atmospheres of the Crazy Horse and the Lido, famous cabarets of Paris smile

In real life news, working all day at the shops, at Christmas Eve, just sucked: I got hope tired after 10 hours of work with just 30 minutes of break around midday, and barely collapsed in the bath tub. I was totally done >__<
All the relatives arrived that I still was drying my hair and I didn't have time to put up some make-up, so I ended up looking like a zombie, with deep dark circle around my eyes skull
I ate all that delicious sea-food just 'cause my mom and my aunt prepared it and I didn't want to let 'em down, but I would have happily skipped the dinner!
Before midnight, I was sleeping on the couch like a baby.
Bah.
Christmas day once again with my relatives, once again eating like there wouldn't be a tomorrow - at the restaurant, celebrating with traditional food from my region.
Eating has been my most common activity in these weeks. Fat cow anyone?! J/k, but I'm not even thinking on getting on a balance before Christmas Holidays are over and I'll be back at my usual diet.
Due to bad economy, global financial crisis and all that crap, presents have been a lot less than they used to be but we weren't less merry - at all! smile
I hope that everyone of you has passed your holidays with the loved ones, 'cause this is the only one thing that really matters.

Talking about celebrations, what will I do tomorrow night?!
I'm still clueless surreal
My BF and I will be dining (YAAAAY, food AGAIN! -.-) at my friend's home with a lot of people, but we're not sure of what to do then... it'll be a last minute decision taken under alcohol's influence, like it happens every year. We are loyal to traditions. Eheh! biggrin
What will you be doing to celebrate the end of 2011 and the beginning of this new 2012??

Now, let's talk of SG. I'm sooo happy to find that sex kitten of Elliott on the front page:

I love writeboy's photography and that set is neat, so good job people! Me liking it a lot!
Also, the fact that Elliott'set was up in member review months ago helps me keeping my faith in minus clothes... who knows... *fingers crossed*. smile

Wishing you all the best for the last day of this year,
xoxo
your Lauretta

film or digital, a good photographer knows if the picture will be good or not, at the moment he push the button of is camera.wink
and with film, you can shoot again and again too, but it's more expensive!

First, great post.

Now, as to photography and your interest in analog... I am encouraged that one who is used to digital photography is interested in the 'original' method. I got interested in doing photography myself in 1980, and did it all with 35 mm film and then got into B&W and developing it myself. Fast-forward to my first digital camera in 1995 which was the Kodak DCS 520, with a couple of mega-pixels and costing $15,000 dollars (it wasn't 'mine' - it was owned by work and we had to split it with another department). Yes, it's been an interesting ride from analog to digital.

Wishing you well.

it is very true - the 'magic' that happens when you develop film is nearly unparalleled (esp. if you don't believe in a higher being). Once you have the negative developed and want to make prints it is a whole other story - all the techniques you need to do to make the pic come out properly ('dodge and burn'). Crazy time sink / waste, for sure. In some ways I am glad that those days are gone. In others, I've not given up - I own my first SLR and have happily taken my dad's prized SLR kit (which, at the time, was worth $5-6K in lenses etc. now, on eBay, I see them go for $250.).

I almost miss the fact that old cameras don't have screen to show you what you took.
