wow, i just dug out my sewing machine to hem some curtains. it's a really basic crappy machine, but i managed to get it threaded and hem with total success. now that it's out, i think i'll employ it in making a few little burning man trifles.
i'm crafty lately. i have been making hula hoops, too. it's really fun, because, when else do you get to use iridescent glitter tape?!
the house is so messy and i just keep doing things to make it messier. it's funny. instead of cleaning my room/workspace and sewing in there, i just shook my head at the mess and set up shop on the kitchen table.
mercury goes direct tomorrow, so maybe i can start imposing order then.

i just went to see dukes of hazzard with a group of about 25 people, many of which were wearing costumes. there were two boss hogs. it was hilarious.. people were passing around "mooshine."
things are good, i'm content and happy, though i have been rather lazy this week and i'm feeling a lot of guilt about that.
i just joined the kitties group and that's exciting! there are some little enclaves of SG that i really really enjoy.

in other news, today i told someone that i was an SG, for the first time in a long time. they'd mentioned offhandedly that they knew someone who was one, and i said, hey, i'm one! it's the first time in a while that i've volunteered that info. been thinking about that. a testament to some renewed self confidence on my part, i think, and also just reaching an equilibrium with being here. it's been a mixed bag. maybe one day i'll even submit another set.. that could be cool. pearl already has a hoop set, but...

today i hooped in the sun with really really really nice people for some hours and got bruises all over my legs trying to accomplish hooping feats. and last night, oh last night. can't describe.
tonight the ants were in yoko's food. i cleaned them all out and cleaned her dish and the floor but now she's being a primadonna and pawing around everything all delicate and tentative because the floor is wet and smells like cleanser. she's so perfect. when i first got my cat i used to write poems for her. she brings me such joy. her soft fluffy white belly.
