So I just wanted to do a quick recap of some movies I have seen lately... and let you know what I thought of them...not that you all think my opinion is right.... but I like to give it anyways hahah.....

We are gonna play the thumbs up or thumbs down game right here.... also feel free to let me know what you think too!!!

BLACK SWAN
zoom image

Pros: Twisted story line, kept me wondering and confused. Pretty hot and cool actresses: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder.

Cons: Horribly shot, made me dizzy and nauseous like coming off a bad trip. I didn't know or like any of the other actors in the movie so their roles didn't play up to the rest. Natalie's mom in the movie was creepy weird and really for no reason, like it didn't really have an effect on the movie. I felt they could have taken the storyline further and made it more dark. It was too innocent for what they were going for I felt.

SO BLACK SWAN GETS A THUMB DOWN FROM ME. I am not sure I would recommend this movie to others.

TRON
zoom image

Pros: Amazing graphics. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Great futuristic storyline. Great acting.

Cons: Can't think of any!!!

SO TRON GETS A THUMBS UP FROM ME!!! I would recommend this movie to everyone!

THE GREEN HORNET
zoom image

Pros: Hilarious. Random humor. 2 great actors and 1 great actress. Funny or random storyline. Cool fight scenes.

Cons: A little corny.

SO THE GREEN HORNET FOR SURE GETS A THUMBS UP FROM ME. GO SEE IT!!! LIKE NOW!

MOVIES I HAVE SEEN NOT IN THEATERS RECENTLY:

THE LAST EXORCISM
zoom image

THUMBS DOWN.... This movie was going good for me. I was creeped out...and then bam here comes the stupid stupid ending. And it ruined the whole movie.

GOING THE DISTANCE
zoom image

THUMBS UP....This was a cute movie. Made me laugh. Good love story that ended good.

DINNER FOR SHMUCKS
zoom image

THUMBS UP....OMG this movie is so random. I loved this one. I was so annoyed the whole time with the guys stupidity and yet laughed a ton.

DEAR JON
zoom image

THUMBS DOWN.... This movie was not that great. The acting was not the best and I felt it was an awkward love story. One that pissed me off in the end. I mean I know people like the untypical ending to a love story but not one that makes a guy wait 7 years. I was mad. Hahah.

AND I AM WATCHING BURIED AS WE SPEAK... I WILL HAVE TO LET U KNOW LATER HOW IT WAS. SO FAR IT IS FREAKING ME OUT. I AM A CLAUSTROPHOBIC PERSON.

HAVE YOU SEEN THESE SETS???

I HATED the last exorcism. It started good and then Eli Roth ruined it with the dumbest ending EVER

Going the Distance was so much better than I thought it was going to be, I thought I was going to sit down and watch a decent comedy and then I wound up laughing my ass off even more than I thought I would.

Dinner for Schmucks was a slow build to a decent payoff. I wish the supper would have been longer, but I did like this one a good deal.

I wish I had a better theater here so I could go see some of these movies when they come out, but I appreciate your opinion on them. biggrin

Movies. Dinner for Schmucks, i felt the same, totally funny but mildly annoyed at the same time.
Good to know about the last Exorcism, i will still probably watch it. YES i will go see Tron and Green Hornet.
As for Black Swan i watched the preview and thought almost entirely what you put in for cons. Going the distance and Dear John i am sure my Girlfriend will make me watch eventually.
As for the sets, i have seen the first half, i will check out the second half later this week. biggrinlovekiss

Really? Tron hand no cons? I have one. IT WAS MADE. Tron was lame in the eighties. It should have never been made.

I do agree with a lot of your points on Black Swan. It is Darren's weakest film to date.

You are right on the money for most of the reviews. Have to see Black Swan and Dinner for Schmucks. Avoiding Dear John, thanks for the heads up.

I agree with you on The Last Exorcism, great concept and good acting and then the ending blows all the goodwill... I loved Tron 2 too!

I thought Black Swan was better than EVERY movie that you gave a thumb's up to. But then again we all have a different aesthetic. My favorite movies of last year, Carlos, The Kids Are Alright, Black Swan, Toy Story 3 ,The Social Network, 127 Hours, Inside Job, The town, The King's Speech,The Ghostwriter, but I don't think we have much crossover. But that what makes movies fun, something for everyone.

Oh I forgot Animal Kingdom, an outstanding Austrailian gangster movie. Really scary & honest. Realistic & truthful. Just watched Evil Dead 1& 2 this week, Kraven you gotta love those 2 pix.

I have to catch up on some of those films.
I saw Dinner for Schmucks and thought it had it's funny points.
I just picked up Going the Distance from the library but haven't had time to sit down with it yet.
I also have an older movie Joyeaux Noel to watch which I've only heard positive about.
I need time off.... to watch these movies. smile
