Happy New Year!!!!

Jeez, I need to try to remember what I've been up to since I've had much time to spend on the internet for anything besides work.

I guess I'll start there. Work has been really busy. We had a few people quit, which of course means more work for those of us remaining. Being salary sucks BTW. I got promoted back in May and in my opinion we still haven't found a good replacement for me. We hired one temp who didn't really do anything so she was let go after about 2 months. We hired another who happens to be drop dead gorgeous. She's also as dumb as a rock. She's very nice but she's just not very smart and after 6 months isn't really getting the hang of things. I've told my boss that I have some concerns and he thinks we didn't take the time to properly train her. I've showed her the same things over and over and she still doesn't know how to do them. He seems set on keeping her around. Sigh.

I probably haven't spent as much time training her as I should have but I've had my own things to do, one of them was the conclusion of a project I've been working on for almost 2 years. I work in mortgage servicing and this project is automating property tax payments. Between our software company and our tax service being somewhat inept at the start up it's taken for-fucking-ever. I finally finished everything and got it working literally at the 11th hour, around 5:00pm on the Friday before I left for Phoenix for Christmas. I was literally going to give myself an ulcer and lose my shit if I couldn't get that working before I left. As it was I had to bring a company laptop and work on it some during my vacation because the new girl is just too dumb to be trusted with it.

My trip home for Christmas was pretty fucking awesome in spite of having to spend an hour or two a day working. The weather in Phoenix was perfect so I got to go running TWICE! It's way too cold in Michigan for me to run this time of year.

Here was my lovely view for the plane ride.

On Christmas Eve my dad, his two sisters, and their husbands and I went on a nice 4 mile hike. The trail was unbelievably crowded, especially for a holiday. We are probably going to make a hike an annual tradition because we all enjoyed it so much and it kept us from sitting on our asses pigging out.

Here are some pretty pics of the mountain we were on.

Me and dad! He amazes me with how active he is in his 60's.

Christmas was possibly better this year, but really weird. We had Christmas at my aunt's house but she wasn't there. She let us use her house while she was visiting her daughter in California since her's is the most convenient. I think it was better this year because my uncle and I brought a few bottles of wine. Normally no one in my family drinks. I poured a big glass of wine and parked my ass in a comfy chair and watched the festivities. My grandpa got on my case asking if I was even old enough to drink. I told him yes, I'm 29 now. He couldn't believe I'm so old. Thanks grandpa! Then he sternly told me not to drink too much.

I can't remember what day it was now but a day or two after Christmas my dad and I went to an indoor rock gym with his BFF since he was just out of college and his son who I grew up with. It's weird because I didn't really start being friends with the son even though we're the same age and went through high school having friends in common until I moved to Michigan. Maybe it was because we ended up going to different high schools. We all had a lot of fun and no one really got hurt. I just managed to scrape me knee on a wall since I'm such a klutz. My dad amazed me then too because he scaled the walls as well as us damn kids.

The next night I went to Muy Thai class with the son and had a stupid amount of fun. My ex hubby started training me in Tae Kwon Do so I wasn't a total newb. The dude was nice and held and wore some pads so I could practice kicking and punching. I accidentally got my hand between the pads he was holding up and punched him right in the face. He was a good sport about it and I didn't hurt him luckily. After that he put on his head protector and told me to try to punch him in the face so he could practice blocking. I played a little dirty and kicked him to make him drop his arms so I could hit him in the head.

After he let me beat him up he took me out to dinner and we had a really good time. I wish we'd started hanging out a long time ago. The last night I was in town he took me to a store called Fascinations. If you're ever in the Phoenix metro area you should check it out. It's the best sex shop I've ever been to. He was more than happy to help me shop for new lingerie to model in but I didn't find anything I liked in my size to even try on. We also found a jaw breaker ball gag. We both debated buying it just for shits and giggles.

Somewhere in there I got to see two of my friends I haven't seen in about 12 years. One moved to New Mexico and got married and the other I just kind of lost contact with. We all went to Dave And Busters and won a stupid amount of tickets. Then we went to the bar my friend who still lives around Phoenix works at for some drinks and Scrabble. It was cool seeing them again. I would never have recognized my friend who lives in NM if I saw him on the street because the hair seems to have migrated from the top of his head to his beard.

Unfortunately while I was on vacation I had to deal with stupid boy issues. I've been dating a guy since the beginning of December and he managed to be a pain in my ass while I was gone, and has such continued since I've been back. Oh well, such are the risks of dating I suppose. I think if I still lived in Phoenix and all things being what they are now I would probably date my dad's friend's son. He's a cool guy. He admitted to staring at my ass while I was climbing the rock wall because he forgot our dad's were standing right there.

Since I've been back I've done one fucking sweet photo shoot. We've been trying to do this one since this summer.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, I have a set that was shot by Lavonne going into MR on February 2nd! I can't wait to see what you all think of it. We shot it during the summer and when I'd taken some clothes off Lavonne realized several of my neighbors' sons were congregated on my front porch staring in my living room window at us. Perverts. I guess they kept it a secret because no pissed off parents came to my door.

I'm totally visiting all those places when I go see my mom and stepdad after they've moved. Especially the climbing wall. I can't imagine why guys were checking out your ass btw tongue

Your dad is pretty crazy fit for his age. If he was ten years younger he'd still be crazy fit for his age. If you take after him you totally are going to live forever.

And congrats on kickstarting puberty for the neighbourhood boys wink Can't wait till your set hits MR.

Well even though it was a partly working vacation glad you had a good time! My boss would agree with you 110% about salary, he has several, several horror stories about having to leave dinner dates with his wife to go bail out some stupid ass customer who didn't plan ahead.

The pics look amazing, can't wait to check that set out! And you just watch I bet you'll get all kinds of offers for free snow shoveling and grass cutting from all those neighborhood boys now. wink

And that is why I've always wanted to avoid becoming a salaried employee. Being a 9-5 worker bee is bad enough. But when you have to deal with crap like that and still have to take the same amount of money home each week, it gets old, real quick. I think you know he's probably not gonna fire that hot girl. At least not until there's been an "incident" at the office. eeek

Looks like you had a hell of a vacation (minus the boy trouble). You should have told your grandpa that you were the DD for the night. That really would have put him in lecture mode. lol

And finally...you take some of the sexiest photos I have ever seen! I'm so glad you're back home, now. biggrin

I have the same shoes as your dad. Either I'm getting old or your dad is pretty hip. Probably both biggrin

I'm glad to read that you had a good time over the holidays; considering all of the work BS you've mentioned here, it must have been a nice change of pace and scenery.

...and your dad is pretty bad-ass, too. Haha.

Lavonne is a great photographer, and I can't wait to see what the two of you put together! smile

Very nice blog. I always tell my staff the reward for competence is more work. I hope you are on a bonus program. Takes the sting out of the extra hours.

Hiking and rock climbing in Phoenix!? Now you're speaking my language! I have a mountain trail at the end of my street and climb 2-3 times per week, some of the best sports out there. Hope you had fun.
