The longest parts of my hair have reached my elbows. It just may be time to cut it off for donation. Stay tuned to see if I get the courage. I have a super cute new style in mind and I know my hair will go to a good cause in honor of my mom who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer just after my 26th birthday and finished chemo and radiation just after my 27th birthday. Her hair is long enough for her to style again and she's really excited about it. It will also be to honor Zarphin's long time friend Liz who passed away last year in her late 20's because her doctor ignored a lump she found saying it was a clogged milk duct from breast feeding. And I can't forget my friend Tracie's life long BFF Corey who passed away a few weeks ago at 33. She had a bought with breast cancer and it spread like fire to her other organs.

I've been growing my hair from just above my shoulders for the last two and a half years with this goal in mind. I'm going to chop off about a foot which will leave my hair around shoulder length again. I'll play with that for a year or so probably and start the growing/donation process again. I've had really long hair for most of my life so this will be a big change. I attempted to donate my hair about 4 years ago when it was this long but they started cutting before they told me it wasn't usable because of highlights I had. This time there is no dye in my hair so I know it'll be usable.

Anyway, enough rambling. I'm planning to do the chopping in the next few weeks so I'll post some before/during/after pics.

In parting, girls get your boobs checked. Boyfriends/husbands/girlfriends/wives help check those boobs.

miao!!

Wow ... breast cancer at 20. frown That's the tough one to find ... and that's why we don't ignore anything. Welp, why we SHOULDN'T ignore anything ...

I'm sorry for the losses you and yours have experienced. Donating that fiery red hair will make some strong lady v. v. proud ... proud of you!

And those free manual mammograms are critical wink

Thank you so much! It really is a tribute to her. She organized and participated in the program from high school thru college, and had she ever grown her hair out again, I'm sure she would have continued to donate it. I'm sure it will look fantastic, especially judging from your sample photo.
