One of my pet peeves is when people answer their phone while you are talking to them. If I'm physically with someone I feel like my conversation should take priority over the person who is calling.

I couldn't agree with you more! Some many people, friends, family, strangers have non respect with it comes to using their phones. I have a few friends who hardly ever use their phones now due to how attached society is to them and how sick they are of them.

Yeah, it gets annoying when you are trying to hang out with someone...talk to them...and the only thing they seem interested in, is their phone.
While it might be nice to have those things, I'd rather get on my laptop to check my stuff online.

I'll admit, I update my FB through my phone and I recently purchased a PlayStation Vita and love it. I carry my 3Ds with me wherever I go. I love technology, but... and here's the but... If I happen to be talking to someone physically, especially a lady, all those things can wait until later. I pay attention to the physical person, then fool around with the technology later on.

I'm pretty bad with cell phone addiction but I try to reserve it for moments of boredom, moments of saying fuck off nonverbal, and general doing nothing moments. Yeah I have a words with friends problem.

Yeah, it's pretty bad and generally I think there needs to be a manners lesson in the box with each phone. I'll admit it, I too have fallen into that pit as well at times. Generally though, I would say it's just a symptom of what is wrong with our society. We have replaced in person interaction with online interaction.

My new years resolution was to be less dependent on my phone. I think it's been a very good choice.

I may love my phone, and the advance of technology, I love that I can pay bills while walking back to my car after class, and beign able to check my bank account at any time before I spend something, but I must agree on the social settings. If you're out with a friend or especially a date, it can fucking wait. Shouldn't your date or your friends be more interesting that liking some retarded photo on facebook? Nothing upsets me more than being out to dinner and feeling liek I'm alone because teh other people are busy texting or checking FB, talk to me, this is why we're out together.
