I'm growing out my hair. Finally.

For those of you who have been wanting a new set, I have brainstormed a solution on how this could finally be achieved:

1) Please send me a photographer

or

2) Please send me a camera

... Together, we can do ANYTHING!

If I stare at these pictures every day for long enough, I believe I will eventually get there.

My current obsession is watching the light change in Rome, in real time.

Wanted: OLD CATALOGS - Free People, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters - $5-20 each!

HELP.

I collect old fashion catalogs for drawing reference. Some months ago, my well-meaning roommate accidentally threw my whole collection out, without telling me (he thought he was doing me a favor by cleaning up my mess)! The thought still pains me.

Please help me rebuild my collection. Maybe you like to keep them, too ... but is anyone else going to pay you $5-20 a pop for mailers you got for free? No!

$20 price tag is reserved for particular issues of Free People, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters that I missed especially much. $5 and in between for ones I haven't seen before, or don't miss as much, or are damaged to the point where I might have to care about that sort of thing.

***ALTERNATELY I would also be willing to buy color photocopies or scans! Easy money, man!***

===================

FREE PEOPLE CATALOGS: Winter 2006 (Glaciers/snow sled theme), Spring 2007 (Vintage trailer/camping theme)

ANTHROPOLOGIE CATALOGS: Various past ones of 2006-2007, can't recall which ones in particular, but remember specific models (i.e. the blonde twins, the Asian model with the blunt cut) and especially fabrics/patterns (would ask if you could please include a picture - nothing fancy, camera phones will do- in your email so I can recognize it).

URBAN OUTFITTERS CATALOGS: Same here; please send me a simple pic to identify which ones I might buy off you.

Thanks for reading! Hope to hear from you soon!

So much to say, so little articulation.

Here's the synopsis:

1) Funeral went fine. It was a funeral. It's weird not to see the casket buried. It's also weird to watch a big yellow digger scoop out a hole in the earth just so you feel more closure.

2) That wasn't Chocolate at the SC Animal joint. We named the imposter Fakestevia Chocolate and met too many wonderful adoptable cats that day.

3) I am paying too much attention to roadkill. I can't shake the image of that woman's dog spinning in the street after being struck dead by someone who couldn't be bothered to stop and say, "I'm sorry I killed your dog right in front of you." Thick warm pools of blood in the road. Giant clots of blood sliding out of the dog's throat and dropping a trail on the sidewalk as his owner carried him home while I held her other dog. D left a bouquet of flowers on her doorstep the next day. I hope she found them.

4) Labor Day was a welcome break. The best song in the world that weekend was "Do you Realize?" by the Flaming Lips. I changed my mind that day about life.

5) I have a webcam.

6) I have deadlines.

7) Every call I get from family members has me anxious that someone else has died. People who I fear to die the most right now: My grandmother and Robert.

8) I am having death dreams. Brains on the street, high school mass suicide optioned as neatly as prom picture packages.

9) I am not getting enough sleep.

10) I need to write all this shit down, but I haven't the time, so I know I'm not doing any of this justice. But I thought you'd like to know.

How are you? I would really like to know.

Not afraid to have renewed hope

An email sent in response to our recent Craigslist ad contained a list of shelter cats at the Santa Cruz County Animal Services. All torties.

The very first picture looks like Chocolate. Almost dead on. But it's really hard to tell, as in the pic, her face is pressed into the blanket, and no special toes or antenna tail are showing.

Guess who's making a trip to Santa Cruz this weekend to find out in person?

WISH US LUCK. This could turn out to be, as D just remarked, "The best present ever."

McK wants burritos from me. And when I say burritos, I mean love. Yes.
