Today has been mellow and pleasant. Looking forward to this weekend's stay-cation at Hell City. The baby will be around much of the days I think, but it will be our first nights away from the punky poopster. Hope everyone survives. lol
Here are some photos I've taken recently. My shooting success percentage is somewhere around 1- 3%. But hey, I'm a newbie. I'll get better. Well I hope anyway. These are shot with my 35mm 1.8f. I am in the market for a 1.4f but am not sure if it should be the 50mm or the 85mm. Suggestions from you more seasoned photographers?
I did just recently have the "ah-ha" moment when I realized that you can't get the finished looking shot right out of the camera necessarily. Really the best thing to do is get a really great even exposure and an interesting shot and the rest can be enhanced in photoshop. Who knew? I mean someone did. Thank goodness. Hopefully future photos will fair better with this new m.o. lol

"Double rainbow oh my god. It's a double rainbow all the way..."
Went to Sedona the other day to catch a show and saw this amazing sight. It was magical. I had no idea people freaked out so much about double rainbows but they do apparently. My friend's reaction whose band we went to see was very near the famous double rainbow guy's. She had to literally leave the room to shake it out of her body after she was talking about it. Adorable. lol
For those of you who haven't seen the double rainbow guy, here it is.

3 things:
1. In this kind of mood today...
I get in these wacky funks where I hate everyone. It seems shitty to say but it's really only because I'm too considerate, too aware of other's wants/needs/feelings that I completely forget to acknowledge my own. Thereby I don't get what I need or want for enough time until it becomes almost a crisis situation. Now that isn't necessarily anyone else's fault. I get what I really want even if it's not what I actually want. Meaning, I clearly want to be seen as considerate and nice and kind rather than take what I actually want and run the risk of seeming like a selfish bitch who doesn't care what someone else thinks. Clearly this is not true. I am a nice lady but I also get the short end of the stick almost all of the time. I don't want that anymore. I still don't want to seem like an asshole, but I might have to get over that part.
Trying to find the balance. I'm just too tired of not getting what I want.
2. I miss being in love. Remember when it was cool to care and cool to feel? Remember when electronic communication seemed cold and distant and you longed for the warmth of a handwritten love note? I do. I want all of that shit back. Yesterday. This is partly contributing to issue #1. It's hard to need something that only seems to be provided by someone else. I want someone to play with, energetically, romantically, you know...
3. Super excited for Hell City. Self explanatory.
Love yous. Feeling more like this now.

Got a new lens for my camera a few days ago.
I'm in love with it. These shots are raw from the camera even. My faces are kinda funny cuz I'm not great at self shooting. I'm amazed at how some people I know can take amazing pictures of themselves holding the camera. It's remarkable.
Can't wait for my practice shoots with some lovely ladies I know. I got a tripod as well so I can practice on myself. Haven't had time for that yet but soon. Very soon...

PIgeons. They ruined my balcony. I can't clean it up myself because I'm pregnant. My husband is too busy. I have to now deal with a professional pigeon removal/cleaner upper person. I cannot tell you how annoyed I am about this situation. I had no idea it could become such a problem. Basically I stopped smoking and rarely went out there. We heard pigeons hanging out and thought they were just chilling on the ledge. Oh no, they had made a nest and grew some babies all up under the futon. Apparently pigeons are one of the only birds who don't take their shit away from their nests. Filthy, good for nothin pains in the asses! LOL
