Decided I wanted to blog about this.

Dear Hopefuls,

Please don't ever give up hope. Every girl on this site was a Hopeful at some stage. Yes yes even Radeo and AnnaLee.
If you need inspiration, just check FP today at Spliff.

She is my Suicide Girl of the week.

zoom image

I mean yes I figured I was pretty expressive about how grateful I was to go pink but this girl just overflows with humility.
This is what makes us Suicide Girls I think.
Knowing that none of us DESERVE to be here. None of us. Nobody owes you anything.
The fact that The Powers That Govern chose you over thousands of other girls is nothing to brag about. Instead, this should make us all eternally grateful.

Humility is what happens when someone gives you something beyond your wildest dreams and asks for nothing in return.

On the flip side, I really don't think it's okay to bitch (excuse my language) and moan about sets not being bought.
I'm pretty sure Spliff loved her first set to bits but I never saw her whining ONCE about how she deserved to go pink above all the other girls who went pink after her.
Instead i saw her congratulate and be GENUINELY be happy for them.

This is just one example of the many girls who we could all learn something from.

I also don't think it's okay to tell girls who go "instapink" that they don't deserve it or that they haven't 'paid their dues'. We're sisters. Our job is to build each other up, not tear each other down.
That's what haters are for.

By the way Splifff, I can't congratulate you enough, I already had a spot on my favourites reserved for youwink

Okay I'm gonna end with a copy paste of a comment I left on someone else's blog because I really don't like repeating myself.

"You know what I've learnt about SG? If you make a good set, they will buy it.

You don't have to be pretty, you don't have to have the best photographer, you don't have to have a gazzilion friends.
Just have faith in the system.

It doesn't matter who you are, I've seen the most popular girls with sets that've been in Member Review for years now.
And you know what they did?
They didn't sit around bitching about the unfairness of it all. They didn't call it quits and disappear.
They remained as happy and strong as ever. They carried on shooting sets.

And they left those sets up there, not take them down after 3 months in a hissy fit.

Girls have gone pink with sets that have been in MR for over a year. Girls have gone pink with their fourth, fifth, even sixth sets.
It's all about the grace and the attitutde.

It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, what you look like or who you know.
If you make a good set, they will buy it. Period.

It's not about the money. It's not about going pink.
It's about being given the opportunity to become a part of this great community.
And, if you ask me, that's priceless."

I love you all, have a great weekkiss

And once you are pink that does not mean that all your sets will be bought afterwards!

...just too add to the wisdom you poured out! biggrin

Being a SG is a struggle that doesn't stop ever... I'm just not sure you're right about this "It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, what you look like or who you know.
If you make a good set, they will buy it. Period." I've seen to many amazing sets from amazing girls never being bought .
Anyways really nice reading your blog smile kiss

I completely agree with you, J. SG is a community of friends that share some interests and values. Not a porn site. It's a site where some brave girls show who they are and what they are proud of, and a bunch of admirers that accept them as they are and cheer them up. Of course there are some douchebags, but I guess that the same system leave them behind.

My excitement hasn't stopped ever since I got the email to shoot my set and start this journey. Sometimes I felt discouraged but I am still excited. I've run across some amazing people on here and I hope to develop friendships with many. Awesome blog. <3

I want to become a photographer so bad, but in my country are not so many alt girls, and less that know about sg, and less that think about being in the site.

This is well said I really like it.

If it was about the money you could find some guy/girl to pay you 500$ to take pictures for them and if it was about popularity then the site would have fallen apart by now.

It's an alternative site. Because we grew up NOT being popular. Being pink is like being queen of the social suicide. Haha an honor but nothing to cry over if you haven't yet turned the coveted pink.

I've thought about shooting a set for years but every time I come back to not doing it. I don't want to be come like (some, few) of the SG girls who get tons of friends and stop replying to their messages. I've had a few bad experiences with SG girls even staff!! Which I think is just terrible since they above all else should be the ones lifting people up not belittling anyone.

Be part of the site because it has great members all over the world who have interesting lives and diverse talents. SG is how I got into photography and I've met some really thoughtful and helpful people through the site who have taught me a lot about myself and my new favorite hobby.

Girls on the site have made me less afraid to be the total nerd I am and the fact I like anime and other cartoons/ nerdy things, reading, movies, art, etc. I hope to shoot (photograph) for the girls in the future and the incredible photography uploaded (sets, blogs, etc) is wonderful encouragement.

If your going to bitch. Then don't even try. Take a minuet to look back and figure out what your reasons for getting naked on the interwebz was in the first place.

Personally I take a feminist approach to the whole thing. I see it as a way for women to take back their sexuality from playboy and night clubs. I love that the girls get to feel sexy being their selves. To me that is PRICELESS worth much more than 500/1,000 dollars.

Showing your bum on the web is not a game to win. This "contest" has great consequences. Future boyfriends/girlfriends, jobs, family, friends, strangers will judge you, sometimes harshly because they disagree with how you look or your personal tastes or for the fact you have exposed yourself. That's reality.

There is enough hate in the world. Let's keep it out of our site shall we? I think the girls in MR and the girls gone Pink are some of the most brave souls I've ever met or had the pleasure of blogging with. Revolutionaries. Beautiful women, not because Heff thinks they are, but because they are WOMEN.

We are beautiful because we are women. That's all we have to be. Pink text has nothing to do with it. Don't get me wrong it is a HUGE honor to have your name go down in history as one of the girls who put herself up on the chopping block and helped pave the way for the rest of us to be FREE.

It's a beautiful thing and it makes me sad to see "some" try to spin that into a negative. SO GET OVER IT AND BE YOURSELF.

Sorry I posted so long :/ Thank you Jeckyl for this great blog and letting me rant for a 100hrs on it <3

I think the staff is like me on Ebay, I'll be watching this book for months, years even. I'll save my money, I'll imagine how it will feel to read it, and then I use the money on Amazon for something really cool.

Any girl that makes pink deserves it. The fact that there are so many hopefuls waiting that deserve it isn't their fault. If a set is good, it deserves front page.

All that said, it's all at once joyous and painful to see an entire week of double front page cleaning out MR.

Erm I must admit I have to agree with Caia, there are a lot of really beautiful sets that have gone into MR that have not been purchased, sometimes I think it just depends on the personal taste of staff and/or members preference at the time.
Also just thought I should point out that while I totally understand and appreciate the sentiment about all SGs starting out as hopefuls, that's not strictly true. MR only came about maybe 5 years ago or something, so the SGs like AnnaLee who have been around longer were chosen as SGs by staff alone and their sets were purchased before they went up wink
I know some girls get a bit sticky about that.

I agree with Tarion and Caia - every time I check the MR, I find new beautiful sets shoot by passionate photographer and featuring amazing models... they're creative and sometimes even ''different'', and they hardly make it to the front page. This is sad, as I'd like to see more diversity and edginess in themes, not just beautiful ladies in their beds. But hey, I'm still loving SG and I'm not gonna give up nor take down my not-bought sets. smile

This being said, I agree with all the other things you said. I like your way of thinking.
