Jeckyl The drug in me is you...

Hi hello...

I would just like to share with you guys what I witnessed today.

I'm sure you've all heard about crime in S.A. And, if you've ever spoken to me in chat, you've heard me rant about how bad it is.
Well, today I had the amazing opportunity(note the heavy sarcasm) to witness a smash and grab in town.

Firstly, I hate going to town. CBD is like THE dodgiest and most unsafe place you can go. Even in broad daylight. But I had to buy my textbooks there cause it's the only place that still had stock.

For those of you who don't know what a smash and grab is, let me explain:
Usually it's 2 guys. They normally target a car in the middle. This means there's a car in front of you and a car behind you so you can't get away. Either in heavy traffic or at a red robot.
Also, they like targetting white people. This is not racist, it's just true. Because black people are violent man.
I remember when I was 14 a big homeless guy tried to mug me and run. I turned around, trippped him, then kicked the shit out of him until all the other homeless people started laughing at him.

Anyway, back to the story.
One guy wearing a long sleeved shirt will have a crow bar up his sleeve. He'll use it to smash your window, grab your valuables, and throw them to the other guy across the road. Then that guy will run.
In theory, this is how it's done.

Today, some poor innocent white man was sitting in his car at a red light. He had carelessly left his window rolled down. (You DON'T open your windows in town. Ever)
Then 2 black guys approached.
I suppose for them this was just routine. What they weren't prepared for (neither was anyone who was watching) was the guy's response.
This guy threw his car door open, chased the guy down and literally tackled him to the ground before procceding to beat the shit outta him and demanding his car keys.

Now a little crowd formed and then everyone started beating and kicking this guy.
Then the victim dragged his attacker to his car and beat him so hard he produced his car keys AND his phone AND his wallet.
By this time, the police had been alerted and when they arrived THEY beat him too.

Now THAT'S what I call justice!!!

I kept his face out to protect his privacy. But this is him standing in front of his car over the guy who tried to mug him. I won't post a pic of that other guy cause he was such a bloody mess.

NOTE: I don't believe in rehabilitation of criminals. Maybe in other coutries where people steal to support drug problems or feed their families. But these guys steal because they're too lazy to get up off their asses and go find work. Yes, we have an unemployment problem but the single mother selling tomatoes on the side of the road? At least she's making an effort. I have no sympathy for these people.
And yes, I spit on him before I left.

That sounds more like vengeance than justice to me. Nevertheless, I don't live in SA.
Stay safe!

I remember my a call in the middle of the night because my gf

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

at that time my gf, we are seperated for years now

had wittnessed a shooting in Jo'burg. I also remember she once mentioned in the 90s that she would call the rent-a-cops before opening the door to the police. ANd how somebody almost freaked out when hearing that I had taken a walk instead of driving...
Last time I was in SA I thought things had gotten better but does not sound like it. frown

I love New Jersey, you are safe in even the most sketchy neighborhood from six in the morning to noon and the amount of time it takes a person to get to quick check or dunkin donuts for a cup of coffee after waking up.

That's one reason I like living in Nevada, we have concealed permits. So robbing someone could end with you on thee ground with at least a bullet wound if not dead. Mine is always on my side and ready to go.

Wow Jeckyl, that's quite a story, one of many unfortunately here in SA. What this shows is that we residents are not down with being victims anymore! Street justice is happening everywhere. welcome to the "new"wild west ('cept we're kind of in the middle biggrin)

Sounds like justice to me. I saw something similar the other day in Cape Town, except it was another motorist who saved the day.
