So things took a turn for the Jerry Springer for a bit, yes?

I'm happy to report that sanity and awesomeness has been restored, via a lot of work and possibly a hard right hook to someone's face. Just sayin'.

To those of you that talked me off a ledge and/or away from the gun cabinet on more than one occasion, or even just made me laugh when I really, really needed it I sincerely thank you. You folks rock.love

I'm sure I have a lot I could update on, but for now here's our newest addition:

Ms. Sappho Aphrodite. She's the only other lady in our house so we often bond over manis and hair brushing.

Goodness.....how time flies.

Thanksgiving was insane. We had it our house for the first time ever. My mom moved two hours away and there was no way in halibut I was hauling everyone down there in the morning, then doing a two hour drive back to my aunt's for dinner with my dad's side, and then a 45 minute drive home sometime at night. Fecking ridiculous. When I first proposed having it at our place my mom countered with the GENIUS idea of coming down the night before. You know, so I'd have to haul not just two kids but two kids and two days worth of their crap around. Luckily, everyone came around to our idea and it went fairly well. With the exception of my mom's d-bag boyfriend being here. I'd really like to sock that guy in the nose. We has a huge bird, stuffing, corn, yams, mashed taters, homemade noodles (made by moi) and of course delicious pie. Which no one left me any of. Grrrrrr.

Steve was diagnosed with severe asthma at the beginning of the month and has been laid off work since then. (His job is what most likely caused the asthma). We're lucky his job gave him unemployment pay, but it's no where near what his normal payday is. So we've been dealing with that junk and trying to figure out how to make Christmas happen for the kids. He has a full pulmonary work up next week and hopefully they'll let him attempt to go back to work after that. He's also on a job interview right now, in case he can't go back to his old place. It's be a heck of a drive for him, but it pays double what he makes now and would get him away from the dust and particles of the body shop. So we'll see.

In little man news, Finn is preparing to start preschool very soon. He just has to complete a physical (which his peditrician insists can't be squeezed in until the 19th) and he'll be off to school. I'm kind of sad because I ha initially really wanted to homeschool the boys. But on the other hand, I know I don't have the patience for it. Or at least right now I don't. I don't know if that makes me a good mom for being able to admit that, or a terrible one for feeling that way. I also think he'll learn better alongside other kids. He's pretty secluded around here and honestly doesn't really know how to interact with people. I know part of that's my doing since we are part of a playgroup but we rarely go because I'm so anxious and awkward around the other moms. So hopefully this will give him the interaction he craves and he'll build upon what we've already taught him at home. He's so stoked to ride a bus, it's not even funny. And the littlest one is bound and determined to grow up despite my insistance that he stop. He started crawling forward the week before Thanksgiving. He had up until then been going backwards for about a month. And then this week he scared the snot out of me by pulling up to standing using the edge of the couch. I had run upstairs to grab him some pants and when I came back down there he was, standing up straight as a beanpole. I froze and Finn screamed "Oh, what's Cabbie doin'?! He's standin' up! Oh!" Finn is my little stool pidgeon. He loves to tattle on everyone.

And to top it all off, my little Etsy shop did a few nice sales over the holiday weekend. Quite a few from you lovely folks here, so thank you guys very, very, very much smile I'm adding more and more designs each day, so keep staying tuned over there.

Okay, it's dinner time, so tata for now sweet potatoes!

Edit: Why, oh why, does SG always rotate my pictures no matter how much I resize them? Grrrrr.

Good day ladies and germs!

I've been a busy little bee the past two days. Whew. I finally figured I should put that year of overpriced art university education to use and start up an Etsy shop. I've been making neato prints on vintage book pages (only from books that are completely falling apart and unsalvageable, lest you think I'm over here chopping up first edition Tolstoy) and funky note cards so far. I love, love, love the cards I made today.zoom image

It feels nice to be all creative again after so long. Even with the craziness of two kids and a dog beast I can manage to get something made each day. Hopefully I'll make a little profit here and there. Maybe even enough to fuel my Etsy shopping addictiontongue Isocide Crafty Goods, if you'd like to see with your own viewing orbits what I've been up to.

I'm hoping to take the kidaroos to pick out pumpkins tomorrow. I think we're skipping trick-or-treating this year, but I'd still like to paint some gourds with them. We tried carving last year and Finn was too ick-ed out by the innards. And I hate doing simple faces, and crazy-intricate designs were not about to happen with a nutty spoon weilding toddler on the loose. So, we'll go back to finger painting them. They always turn out so pretty and last longer than ones we carve. Mayhap if they're well-behave (read: not killing eachother or screaming like banshees on fire) we'll stop in at the craft store so I can get a few more supplies. We'll have to play that by ear. Steve will be out all day tomorrow, hopefully killing a deer. We could certainly use the meat, and I could certainly use him being in a better mood.

Time to get a jump on dinner making! Tata for now sweet potatoes!

P.S. Oh, and once again, I have stuff for sale over yonder if you're in the market for cutesy lady stuff, set items and SG merch (actually I only have one SG shirt left, so someone better go buy it!)

Please excuse the mess behind me and my awful, misbehaving hair that I'm sporting today.

Edit: In case you are in the market for some of my old clothing, including SG merch and set related stuff, I have things for sale over yonder.

I quite enjoyed that little video project. Glad you all liked it too. What say you to another one?
Leave me some questions that you're dying to know the answers to and I'll make a happy Q & A viddy for you lovely folks.

Edit:
May as well stick this up here as well. Enjoy.
