Just over a year ago, I was in a car crash. No one was seriously hurt, but the car was a write off and I got a few cracked ribs and a burn across my chest from the seatbelt.

I spent a week or so laid up, and while I was recovering I didn't have much appetite and struggled to eat. The only thing that made me feel better was Diet Coke. Even after I was fuly healed, I couldn't kick the habit, and now I have a bit of an addiction. I get headaches and bad moods when I try to stop, so I'm trying to cut down slowly. Any tips?

Eight months since I last updated! I think that's the longest I've ever been without upating in the last six years.
Lots of life has happened. Most notably:
Went to a reading by Joe Hill and got my copies of Horns and Heart-Shaped Box signed. He is amazing, I swooned. What I heard of his latest novel sounded awesome.
Saw The Bluetones on their farewell tour. Bummer. My dad first took me to see them when I was about fifteen.
Also saw scroobiuspip on his Distraction Pieces tour. He drank rosé and was awesome, and I became a new fan of B. Dolan. Natasha Fox's live vocals blew me away!
My dad took me to see Paul McCartney at the o2 arena - it was amazing. When Paul McCartney announced he had a guest, and Ronnie Wood came onstage, I couldn't quite believe it.
I watched the TV series of Teen Wolf, and was ashamed for a) liking it and b) having an age inappropriate crush on the lead.
I also enjoyed American Horror Story. I think there's something wrong with me, because I am really attracted to Tate, and to Christian Slater in Heathers.
Got a Kindle for Xmas. I'm reading John Dies at the End.
I have almost completely rewritten my book. I may have been slightly over optimistic when I said I was finished.
I'd say I've missed you, but I have actually been here. Lurking, like a creeper.

For your viewing pleasure

I am not leaving my flat other than to go to work. All I want to do is write. I'd give a more detailed update, but all I have done for the last few months is write.
A few weekends ago, Sky, Dixy and Nikhita came over for a sleepover. We drank cocktails, watched The Craft, and had an awesome time. I love them. Almost all of my girlfriends are suicidegirls. I'd think it was weird, but I have been a part of the community here since I was 19, so I suppose it makes sense.
I want this so badly, but it's sold out! I can't stop thinking about it, I'm so upset that it's gone
If you have the time, let me know what you think of me, skyclad, here.

Hey Guys
I'm looking for an awesome cover up artist in the UK, can anyone reccomend someone?
Roller Derby on Saturday was so awesome, I want to learn to roller skate. I'm trying to spend every second of free time on my book, so I really don't want to commit time to anything until it's finished. At the same time, I'm starting to feel burned out by work and writing, and another hobby might help to remedy that.
Who wants to teach me how to roller skate?
Thanks for the awesome comments on my new set, Secret Windows
It was very nice to have a new set and to read all the comments.
Valentines love to all

I'm going to watch a roller derby bout tomorrow! Really excited to see it in real life! Will anyone else be there?
I got a big bonus in my January pay, and its burning a hole in my bank account. I'm desperate for new tattoos, although I know I should save it or put it towards something more sensible.
Tattoos or Savings?
I miss North America so much, I'm desperate to go back. I spent three months in the States and Canada in 2008, it seems so long ago now! Wish I could just pack up and move stateside.
Maybe my book will get published, and an American publishing company will sponsor my relocation. Where should I live if I come to the States?
Get ready for new Honey nakedness in less than 9 hours! I really hope "Secret Windows" goes down well - I feel almost as nervous as when my first set went up.
Hope you like it

Still looking for tips on what to see in Barcelona that might not be in the guidebooks.

I am roughly 1/3 of the way through my first novel!
I have a really conservative job, and it doesn't suit me at all. I ended up there because I needed a job that paid well enough to get a mortgage, but it is so far removed from who I am and what I want it is absolutely unreal. If I can end up making a living from writing, I can honestly say I would be one of those people who loves what they do and doesn't live for the weekend.
Albertine shot a set of me when we visited Amsterdam, and it goes into Member Review this Saturday. I really hope you like it, its been a long time!
For your viewing pleasure:

Let me know what you think when it goes into MR - its the raciest set I've ever shot, and I love it.
I am going to Barcelona to celebrate my 25th birthday - anything not in the guidebooks I should make sure I see?

I really want my feet tattooed. I nearly got them done last year in Prague by Skyzzo but I wasn't feeling good so I chickened out!
Does anyone else love Angela Carter? I got obsessed with The Bloody Chamber collection at school, and I can't go more than a few months without reading something by her. I love how visceral she is. I'm doing a lot of writing at the moment, and I'd have to list her as one of my biggest influences.
All I have been able to think about today is how hot Opie from Sons of Anarchy is.
I would seriously be his Old Lady.

I also love how Jax is Nathan from Queer as Folk. He looked so angelic and young in Queer as Folk, and now he's a tattooed biker! Its so impressive when actors do that.

I love it so much.
I thought I'd post some more pictures from a set that didn't get bought (by P_mod - I think these ones are really nice.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sean, Evette, Rambo, GoGo and Kokeshi when they came to London. They were all lovely to meet, and it got me thinking about how the majority of people I am close to I met through SuicideGirls. Honestly, over 50% of my closest friends are either SuicideGirls or SG members. This place is so important to me; its been such an intimate part of my life since I was 19. I am a totally different person to who I was when I joined in 2005, but the people I met then are still around.
I also got to meet some of the UK SGs that I haven't met before, and Lylie and Apory, two beautiful French SGs living in London.
I was really happy to meet gorgeous Chesha! She is lovely and her debut set should be hitting MR soon - you are in for something really special!
I haven't had a set for a while, so here are some pictures by Alissa that didn't get picked up

My blog has cut out a lot of the pictures but you should be able to see them if you right click!
To old, new and future friends! xxx
Has anyone else read the latest Walking Dead? No one else I know is up to date as they read the trades!
Anyone up to date with Hellblazer?

My dad taught me to read using comic books.
X-Men, Spiderman, Daredevil, the Avengers, the Defenders, Conan, Red Sonja (these two were kind of weird and embarrassing), Captain America, and Fantastic Four being among the main titles we devoured together.
My favourite will always be Uncanny X-Men.
My most-loved character (unsurprisingly) was Kitty Pryde. I followed her development avidly, through tantrums, name and costume changes, space adventures, devastaing first love, demotion, promotion, and eventually to a whole new team. I was touched by her friendship with Illyana, devasted by Peter's defection, amazed by her strength of character when fighting the Sidrian Hunters and sacrificing herself to the Morlocks for her teammates, and enthralled by her IQ and her ability to fight alongside adults.
Here are some of my favourite moments of my early comic history:

After the Mutant Massacre, I of course followed Kitty to Excalibur. I had the most awesome poster of all the Excalibur characters on my wall as a kid but I can't find any pictures of it online.
I was extremely excited by her romance with a mysterious, dangerous older man:

Kitty isn't the only character I loved and followed, but I'd say she's the one I've had the most enduring love for, and who I connected with most easily as a child.
In my teens, although I still loved and often dipped into my dad's old comics and my Excaliburs (the first title I collected independently of what my dad was reading), I started spending more time on titles like Sandman, Hellblazer, Preacher and Transmetropolitan, which more suited my moods. I also read Gloom Cookie and Wet Moon, and some Dark Knight and Tank Girl.
Currently my favourite ongoing series is Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead. I'm so excited for the TV series I could wet myself!
This concludes "How I Learnt to Read and Other Stories". Its been my longest blog for a while. I thought I'd tell you about something that was such a huge part of my childhood and influenced who I grew up to be
