So i am getting a bit frustrated. maybe it is just getting close to the end of the year and i am starting to look back and realize this year was kinda pathetic. i made some more amazing friendships...yep. helped my best friend survive cancer...yep. travelled to SE Asia....yep. got more kick ass tattoos that i totally love...yep. got an awesome promotion at my job...yep. started getting back into photography....yep. and totally found an awesome guy that reminds me why life is so much fun...nope.

i'll ask the question asked a million times.....

"where are all the awesome guys in this town?"

"is it me? is it them? do i smell bad? is it because i dont wear heels?"

i am so frustrated. i'll hang out with a guy and realize it isnt a fit but it is fun and then just let if fade away. i have not really been excited about anyone in...... goodness i dont even know. i have some crushes but i'm not even serious about them. san francisco is so difficult.

i go out all the time. i have to interact with people all day long for my job (no rad guys ever come in...ok maybe a couple a week....but really.....i wait on like 400 people a week...those are not good odds). i try to go to shows, events, parties, cafes etc........

i think i hang out with guys too often. i have a lot of guy friends. it is impossible to meet a guy if your out with a guy that you're only friends with.

i need to figure this out. heels are out of the question...can't wear them. i have really bad knees and i dont wear dresses.

so where did you meet your partner? advice? words of wisdom? got a hott friend that is single and likes a girl that doesnt care if she gets dirty, probably wont wear a dress, will be up early in the morning and up late at night, loves to laugh, never fights, can always justify getting new tattoos but never buys new shoes?

and dont say "you need to stop looking".....i am not "looking" just getting tired of waiting......

i met mine on a bus. pretty random though, i don't recommend holding out for that.

shows, movies and such don't work because there's not enough chances for interactions and talking. i'm sure your job is the same deal. maybe you see 400 people, but it's not like you're chatting about their views on buddhism or anything.

parties and events are the opposite. you get to talk, but only to people you already know, so if something was going to happen it would have happened already. plus there's the worry there that you could have bad one time sex and they it would all go sour and fuck up your social group. you're naturally predisposed not to go for it, but the impulsive stuff is what makes it happen.

i vote, make some new casual friends. girls even. get invited to some stuff you wouldn't normally go to with some totally new people. either that or go out on a limb a little more. maybe you're just being way too scaredy pants. sure it will go bad sometimes, but you only need it to go right once!

argh the boss thing is hard. i don't envy you. being a "cool boss" is awesome, but not getting stepped on because of it is difficult. must be weird cos i guess some of the staff you've known for ages which would be harder i guess, cos they are your friends. i'd say just be honest, and if theres problems, just deal with them immediately, 1:1. i know your awesome anyway, so its not like you'd be an ass with anyone.

my boss is a "cool boss" definately - but the reason he doesn't get walked on is cos i'm his only member of staff!

as for coming out...i'm definately SF bound at some point in the next 12 months - however, it'll either be Xmas and New Year this year (will you be around? if you are you wanna come see X with me at Slims?) or Sept 09.

just saw your post in the SF group...if i came out at Xmas, i was kinda worried i'd be in an empty city with noone around.

a zeitgeist Xmas sounds perfect though! would you be happy hanging with an out-of-towner stray on Xmas Day? i'll buy presents!
