Glad you have that hot boy to help you regroup. My family is ignorant like that as well. What I've found is that considering my close friends as family over biology has made me a far happier person. If your biological family truly loves you, they will realize how stupid they are being and ask your forgiveness.

Congrat's on the grades, sorry about the family. It's sad that so many people go through life trying to live within their own alternate reality. It's especially sad when parents are incapable of seeing how awesome and special their child is, and instead focus on ways in which the child doesn't fit their self-obsessed, predetermined notion of who they ought to be.
