Sorry to hear about your ticket misfortune, and I wish your friend all the best tomorrow. Whether it is in the US or Iceland, I think the officials/the government/the city in both places would want money first and if that fails ... then maybe jail... community service?

I hate getting tabs based tickets. I think the cops go back to the station and laugh at me after they do it.

I doubt you would get thrown in jail for that unless its a multiple offense. I have my court date for my 3rd speeding ticket in about a month. Unless I can argue it WAY down, I'm gonna lose my licence for that.

wouldn't think they'd toss her in the slammer for vehicle violations, just take a big chunk of her money and yell at her.

Getting a ticket sucks - woulda thought he'd have let you off but they're getting stricter about that sorta stuff.
