Well, I just finished my first semester and it feels good. One down, five more to go! I'm a little pooped since all I've done in the last five months is work, go to class and do homework. I did adopt a new dachshund from a lousy shelter in Downey, CA. I can't believe how horrible the conditions were there, which makes me even happier to have taken Ollie out of there. He would have been put to sleep if I hadn't. I apologise to everyone who has sent messages that I haven't responded to. I'm slowly trying to get throught them all before I start my next semester and don't have much spare time again. Hope everyone who celebrates the holidays have a wonderful time with family and friends! smile smile smile

I finally made the decision to euthanize my dog Spitzi. He was so skinny, thirsty, blind and he got another sore on his paw. I couldn't bear to see him so sickly anymore, but I'm feeling guilty for my decision since he was still enjoying playing with his toys a little. This is harder to deal with than I thought it was going to be. frown

I'm just going to say one BIG THANK YOU for all the comments. Even if I wasn't doing school and work I think I would go insane trying to respond to every single person! love love love

I haven't had much spare time since I started school, it feels like I haven't been here in months. School is fun so far. Even though I can't stand my English class because I hate writing essays, I still managed to be one of the few people who actually got a passing grade on our first extended essay. It's been almost 10 years since I've done this kind of stuff and I've still got it! Man I'm good! I better not get too cocky, I might jinx myself. blush
My dog is still having problems, one of the new things being diabetes. I've decided to blow off the vets since they don't seem to know what they are doing anyways and have taken things into my own hands.
And I don't have lyme disease!

Something evil has injected it's poison into me! frown I have the most itchy and sore wound on the back of my leg. My place is filled with all sorts of spiders and this gives me more reason to hate them. So now I have this nasty spot of raw flesh about the size of a nickle; It's pretty gross. I was starting to come to terms with my spider issues but now I'm not so sure. I also have a slight fear of balloons which I'll probably never get over either. People think that's strange but balloons are so creepy when they slowly dance around a room and you never know if they are going to pop. Being stuck in a car with them is the worst for me!

Anyone else have any strange phobias?

Phew! It's been a little hectic the last couple of weeks getting everything straight for school but I got into all the classes I needed for my first semester. I ended up having to take more classes than I thought because the degree for mortuary science has been changed. Now I have to take math and some dance class along with the medical science and English class. I feel kind of out of place being almost 28 and going to college for the first time but I'll probably blend in well since I'm so tiny and people always think I'm around 20. I'm excited to challenge my brain again! smile

I'm getting really excited to go back to school. I had orientation this week and found out that the college has changed the mortuary science program to a different type of degree. Instead of only having to take the two prerequisites of English and biology, I now have to take more general ed. classes. Kind of a bummer but oh well. My registration date is kind of late, making me a little worried that the classes might fill up.

I've started taking my dogs health into my own hands. The vets. don't really seem to know what they are doing and seem like they are just winging it. Spitzi started drinking and peeing uncontrolably, which I'm guessing means his liver or kidneys are having a hard time. Probably the four medications he's taking. So I've cut down on the less inportant ones that aren't doing much for him and will be switching to meds. from a homeopathic doctor. It will make things a bit cheaper. Right now I've been spending close to four hundred a month just on mdeication alone! If the herbal stuff doesn't help, I'm going to have to let him go. This makes me really sad. He's my first baby. frown frown

Once again working in the spa industry has provided me with another interesting experience. It's not often that a male requests to have a Brazilian wax. I have a new male client who is now coming in for regular Brazilian waxing and he's very nice and nothing ever springs up if you know what I mean. So when I had another male client come in and ask for a back wax but then asked to change it to a Brazilian once we were in the room I tried not to get suspicoius even though the way he brought up having it done was a little strange. Ick! This one got an erection every time I had to clean the area. Even though he apologized it still seemed kind of creepy to me. It feels really odd seeing a boner in person on someone I'm not having any sexual relations with!

So now after talking about that, I want to know- what's an awkward experience you've had?

And, in the continuing saga of my little dog Spitzi"s illness(if anyone cares) he is his normal spunky self again being on the medication, but unfortunately, the meds. that are keeping him alive also make other things go wrong. He beat the lung infection but now is fighting a UT infection and also had to have two bumps removed from his nose that started to grow after getting on the medication. Now among the scars from his previous hereditary skin disease and his potbelly from steroids, he has staples in his nose. frown He's a beat up old pooch.
