Hello, Comrades!
I've just realized that this week marked my eighth anniversary as a Suicide Girl. Despite it being well over a year since my last journal update or photo set, I still have a place in my heart for it. I've met some of my closest friends, had amazing (and some not so amazing) adventures, but as Sean would put it, it's all been "a life experience".
Obviously, I'm crap at keeping up with journals and blogs, but you can find me on Tumblr and on Instagram as samsmith, both of which I update on a close to daily basis.

Nixon and I are proud to present Induced Epidemics, Haute Macabre's first event. We are VERY excited about it- not only did we get great artists like Chad Michel Ward and Michael Hussar, SG favorites like ymonster, courtneyriot, Zoetica and Cherry, we also got amazing submissions from Haute Macabre readers, including the one we ended up using for the flyers. I have relocated back to New York City. Yes, I am still available as a staff photographer. No, I am no longer available as a staff photographer in Los Angeles.

I found myself on top of the Empire State Building last week, like you do on occasion. Before I wound up at the top, I had found myself in the lobby, completely unexpectedly and unbeknownst to me. I can only blame the Starbucks.
Due to the fact that I had no idea how or why I was there, I only had my iPhone to document the event.

Fractal and I (aka Haute Macabre) are curating an art show this winter in the Chaos Gallery in Los Angeles. We have some great artists on board for the show, and we're really excited about it. However, alongside art from some of our favorite folks, we would also like to exhibit some work we've never seen before from talented up-and-coming artists. We have a tenative list of main artists for the show, although it's not set in stone yet, but for now we're thinking the lineup will include works by Michael Hussar, Chad Michael Ward, and Tim Kern, plus some other dark-and-creepy stuff we'll be keeping under wraps until a little closer to the show.
