As I am sure everyone is aware of, Los Angeles is on fire. Again.

The Pasadena Humane Society has spearheaded the disaster relief for the hundreds of displaced and injured animals, and is accepting both monetary and supply donations to further their efforts.

Cash donations can be made directly on their site, and supplies such as canned pet food, kennels, etc. can be dropped off at :

361 S. Raymond Ave.
Pasadena, CA 91105

On Monday, D23 and I drove up to Flintridge to get a first hand look at what was causing the hills to look like volcanos and turn the sky an off-colored yellow.

More images at Five Twenty Three.

Aside from that, go shower these sets in Member Review with love and admiration so that I don't have to start hunting for a day job :

Your photos are awesome - and frightening.

Thank you so much for your concern for the animals. They are too often the forgotten victims of disasters such as this. I donate regularly to my local and regional societies. I will make a donation to yours.

Best wishes to you and to all those affected by this horror.

Day jobs are pretty dreadful.

I had actually forgotten that LA burns again. I may take up residence under a rock from here on out.

This is so awful for everyone affected. A friend of mine who lives in Germany was recently talking about the fires that were spreading in Athens, where her family lives. They got things in control, but not until much damage and anxiety. They said that the government didn't handle the situation very well.

One of the reasons i've always admired you is the caring and compassion that you've shown on several ocassions. This is just another example of this.

I just saw on the news . . . that some asshole started that fire intentionally! There are dead firemen . . . more than 50 homes destroyed . . . . there is nothing you could do to that person, to make them pay sufficiently for the damage and hardship they've caused! mad

Thanks for filling me in on the donation sites, I took some pics from West Los Angeles to give people an idea of the size of the fires - I've been here my whole life and I have never seen anything quite like it.
