flux0r on the sexiness of philosophy:
"because there's nothing hotter than fucking right after you've proven that your lover doesn't exist."

who is your favorite final fantasy 3/6 character and why?

poetry day, eh?
here's the beginnings of something. take it as ye will.
i wish that i had met you on the streets of barcelona
it's a little less hectic there than the bull-town of pamplona

I just wanted you to understand that my comment about suicide being cowardly is in no way directed at other people. Simple fact is, I've been a quitter, and I know what it means to give up and I don't like it even to the extent that I'll kill myself (metaphorically, of course) to avoid it. And that goes for the life as well; I have always felt that so long as I'm alive then I am as I should be. I could have died several times in my life (been run over, fell off a cliff, caved my brains in against a sign pole, etc.) but through circumstance I didn't. That leads me to believe; what gives me strength to put up with all the bullshit... is that I'm not done until it's taken from me for as long as I'm here, there's something yet to learn. I've lost friends to suicide, and I guess that just means it was their time. I simply couldn't do it because deep down I knew it wasn't my time. Whatever it was that hurt me so much I'd rather die than accept it until it faded... it was there to teach me.

shit girl, I had to come out of anonymity just for you. I read your journal, fell in love and the urge to comment was overwhelming. love

and you know what else is hot? fucking in the allegory of the cave, with all those chained up people, and all they can do is hear you moaning, and see your shadows... damn thats hot love

and my favourite character... hmm... well.. gameplay-wise I just love Umaro, with a rage ring and marvelshoes, OMG so much cheap cheap fun, especially in Cult of Kefka's tower! Otherwise, I just love Gogo, a reaccuring FF character, finally playable, completely customizable and out to go agains the worlds most powerful being for shits and giggles. 16 bits aside, his outfit kicks ass, I just wish he could equip espers for stat bonuses frown

Can't go wrong with Shadow either, a damn fine example of badass ninjas.

But who's your favourite??? <3

I'd follow up the lines you have with somethin like this-

But perhaps the blood and gore would be a better foundation than the bright sunshine
A better preperation for what will surely be the end of hope and joy
But fates aren't chosen to suit our will

ff3 is nice and all but ff1's theif roxx0rs
tongue

Why?
Because theres no point in having him, sure he turns into a ninja, but ninja isnt even that great.

When he goes ninja you can use up to l4 black magic, but any good party will already have a black mage and as we all know the only point of a black mage is to haste your black belt so he can do 999 a hit.

oh, and fighters suck too, 2 black belts, a black mage and a white mage is whatcha want...

wait, i went off on ff1, sorry about that, ill stop bein a geek and go away in shame

Shadow because I'm a crazy ninja. Or thought I was when I was younger. I don't think I've stopped believing.

I also thought I was / wanted to be Batman. My grandparents were embarassed when I went into the restaurant restroom and changed into my Batman costume one time. The other kids loved me.

That was probably the last time I was cool.

What about fucking after you accept, as the buddhist believe, that there is no "I", no Ego. Then it's no longer two people fucking, it's a whole cosmos of interconnected fuck. Hurray for tantra.

I honestly havn't played 3/6 yet...because 1) I never had a Snes as a kid...and 2) Once I DID Get it...FF9 came out..and I was too tempted to start playing that...and 3) I didn't have the time to play RPG's shortly after that, due to working to get portfolios done.

frown *sniff* It's sitting right over there... I MISS RPG's!!! *sniff* frown

The one thing about the characters in final fantasy 3 is that they are all easy to love. You grew emotional attachments to them..well..at least in my case. Terra Branford: It was good to see a female lead in a rpg for a change. She whooped so much ass when she morphed. I also liked her for her respectful need to care for those orphaned children after the age of ruin.
I'd have to say Mog the moogle was my all time favorite though. At first I was not sure this cute little bugger could hold his own in a fight. My worries were dismissed when Mog did a little dance to the earth blues and a focking landslide smashes the enemy to shit.

Dancing for the purpose of battle. = tight.
what a great question Flux.
who is yours/ why?

Ideas are ultimately sexy.. thinking is the best.

As for some relatively obscure philosophers you might enjoy but are fairly obscure check out (my fav.) Emile Cioran and also the amazing french philosopher Gaston Bachelard, who's book "the Poetics of Space" I consider a seminal work in my own self-taught education. Jean Baudrillard is good too.. but I'd stick to "Simulations" (his most academically relevant text) and the Cioran-esque aphorisms in his(though tending towards a more academic vocabulary) series of books of his called "Cool Memories".

If one, like me, finds systemic philosophies largely inapplicable, then the great aphorists (esp. Nietzsche, Kierkengaard, and Cioran) are your best friends.

*edited* so to say I haven't played that version of Final Fantasy and therefore cannot name a favourite character.
