they will live for sure, but it will give them a HARD ass lesson in eating your food.

Yeah, if the post-its aren't working, I'd say whip some laxative into something they typically consume. Or, at the very least, eat some stuff of theirs. If people aren't going to be honest, it might be time to play dirty.

mini-fridge would be the way to go

That sucks. I had that problem when I had 4 roommates in the house. Have to agree that a mini fridge does help some but not much. It will keep things like drinks and yogurt and things safe. But best thing is to just buy what you eat that day to fix. They really started learning the lesson when it was turned on them and the roommates started eating the other's leftover pizza's and stuff.

The only way to get rid of them is to put some laxatives in some of the food and hide the rest, let them eat it and when they are shitting and pissing like race horses, you can tell them that it will happen everytime they steal your food.

Poison some of the food with something none lethal and explain to them the reason they can't leave the toilet is that they kept stealing your food. Sounds cruel but it would be hella funny.

Have you confronted them on it? I say and eye for and eye, eat their food. There is no worse feeling than hunger and when you start costing them money they will stop. Otherwise I say butcher them and make them in hamburger patties. As of yet their are no laws regarding cannibalism
