All those salaries add up to $1,041,900. Divide that by $ 38,000, and you can employ a whopping 27 more soldiers; divide by $ 12,000 and you can provide for an astonishing 86 seniors. Budget cuts absolutely need to be made, but why waste any effort on such small potatoes? A million dollars is a lot to us plebes, but is insignificant at the national level.

Seriously! Those seniors don't need all that money! Crazy! With all the old people out there, think of how much more our former presidents could be making!

I agree with Lombre, cutting their salaries would be like pissing in the great lakes with regard to cutting the deficit, but it would at least be a gesture in the right direction.
