I can't believe I just was about to finish writing this new blog and accidentally hit a button, thus deleting everything... T____T
Please tell me this doesn't only happen to me!
New Korea blog. In case you missed the others and are interested, here are the links.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Let's start this off with a picture of my hobo-self. It was the first day I was able to go outside without a jacket! Nice, that.
Decided to check out Myeong dong market. A vast area with numerous clothing- and make up stores. It is said that if you are looking for something and you can't find it here, it likely doesn't exist. Probably true.
I ventured around for hours and probably only saw a small part.

Kitties and hipster glasses are popular here too.

The selfie from my last blog makes a reappearance!

Lots of subway stations look like shopping malls themselves. Not unlike Shanghai.

Here is a taste of Lotte Mart's seafood section:

It could be considered Korea's Walmart.

Got this hot(!) Minute Maid orange beverage from a random vending machine.
Seoul Station

Some snack I bought at Lotte Mart. Not very good I'm afraid. I have South Park to thank for this.

But I also bought some non-food items I'm very excited about. Unfortunately when I tried to open the ear studs at home, one broke because the clasp was too tight. Argh...

The next few pictures are from the Cherry Blossom festival. It's been over a week since we went there but I haven been too lazy as of late, to load pictures off my camera.
It was too chilly that night for the blossoms to bloom, but we had our fun there for a while.

Lots of nom nom street food. Of course we indulged. By not I have learned that most of korean sweets and pastries are heavily starch based. Not overly sweet like they are in the US or in Europe. None the less, a lot of them taste excellent.

There was a stage where some sort of show was being held (of which I understood nothing) but at some point the mascots started to dance to "Gangnam Style". It was glorious. The black bird was shaking it particularly.

Now to the pictures from yesterday.
Finally it's been warm enough for the cherry blossoms to come out properly and it's oh so beautiful!

After that, we went to ChangDeokGoong. One of many palaces directly in Seoul that can be toured. The palace grounds are vast, but only part of it is open to the public.
Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding the ticket lady sold us tickets for the "secret garden" for like 3 hours later, so we decided not to hang out for that long. I shall return!

What mostly fascinated be beside the architecture, was the colorful art on all the individual buildings. I took so many pictures I can't even upload all of them here.

After the palace exploring, we went back over to Insa-dong Street because I was craving a caramel waffle badly. We walked down a random alley and happened upon a vegetarian restaurant. I loved it because it was traditional korean where you have to take your shoes off at the entrance, sit on a cushion on the floor and you are instantly greeted with your own pot of tea.

We munched on dumplings stuffed with veggies and soy protein, steamed pumpkin with some sort of nuts and jelly on top and fried protein strips on salad with tomatos. And we ated it all.

Later on we came across a store selling grourmet mochis and other starchy treats.

Aye. Of course we bought some!

Stay tuned for a new update in the near future. There is so much more to see!

OMG new blog already. I know. But we keep doing cool stuff. ^^
Saturday, we went to Osan. My husband wanted to go to Mr. O to get some suits tailored.
There must be hundreds of tailors in this town who can make you practically ANYthing you want.
We walked into the store and the nice man was eagerly nodding his head "You want James Bond suit?" *points at picture on wall*

Why YES, yes I do!
The man is all prepared and didn't get his good reputation from nothing.

As he took my husband's measurements, he cracked me up with comments about his body and then proceed to tell him what a sexy wive he has and how lucky he is, as he took my meaasurements too. There are two new dresses and a coat in my future.

Did some window shopping and real shopping before taking the bus from Osan AFB back to Yongsan.

When I was in Shanghai uuuh 2006, I think, I already saw McDelivery and couldn't believe my eyes. But yea. It's happening.

Sunday, we walked around Itaewon like good tourists are supposed to.
We had lunch at Santorini, which is a really nice greek restaurant and I stuffed my face with greek salad and tzatziki.

There also is an irish pub in "restaurant row" we HAD to go and check out. It's called Baby Guinness.

After that we caught a showing of the new Evil Dead on base and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It did have some humor after all. But maybe just because of too much blood and the fact that I had to keep thinking of the original.
I will feast on your soul !!!!
Since my husband has to work all day, I pretty much am doing my thing every day but the weekends.
Today, I decided to check out the Beautiful Store which is a second hand/thrift store. Supposedly though, koreans dislike second hand things so the store wasn't too big or well stocked. But they had some fair trade coffee and other food items. Since I can't wear any of the tiny clothes, I got some mullberry noodles and fig marmelade which was produced in a monastery.
After that I went over to Insa Dong Street for more touristing. This area is famous for selling ceramics and paper wares so I was able to score some cool stationery and trinkets to bring home for my family.

Also found a little mall with a surprisingly big number of tiny independent looking stores.
And, the best caramel waffle I have ever had. I might have to go back just to get another one!

The whole structure was full of scribbles on the walls.

Not sure what this is but it was called "wonder land" and a little coffee shop is selling these plastic tags with nifty images and you can write stuff on it and hang it wherever you think you can still find room. Probably for friendship and/or love?

There are also shops that will make you your own custom stamp for a mere 30,000W. (Less than $30)
I shall return!

On the way home, I stocked up on bread and pastries from another french bakery. Since I had already been snacking on candy before, what the heck. I got some bubble tea. I swear to god I've had those squishy bubble thingies before. Just can't for the life of me remember where or when.

I have this weird suspicion that people secretly take pictures of me.
In particular young women. One definitely did so the other day as she walked past me on the street and was holding her iPhone awkwardly in front of her, camera aimed at me.
We got asked for a group picture at COEX mall the other weekend when the 4 1/2 of us were out and about. A blonde and a baby in one group must have been a caucasian double whammy.
They are as exotic to me as I am for them.
But how the hell am I ever going to get a picture of all these beautiful asian women without seeming like a wheirdo?
Here is a selfie of me in the elevator looking like a hobo.

Oversized clothing is really in here these days and unfortunately everything that is oversized for korean people is normal size for me. So while the tiny asian women look so adorable in their jackets, I just look normal.
But ho well.
This is it for now and in case you missed my other Korea blogs, here are the links:

Until next time!
EDIT: no wait. I found some more random Instagram pictures I forgot to post.

You get peanuts and little dried fish with a sauce to dip them in if you order beer.
I ate the peanuts. So long but no thanks to all the fish?

Cute footsie sock thingies I bought. They have rubber nupsis on the bottom like socks for little children do.

Here is a short new Blog because I'm waiting for potatos to cook.
Lee had an awesome idea by making a thread for "One Hit Wonders". It's about SGs who have been here for quite a while but have only had one set purchased. Check it out and show some love if you feel inclined. I myself belong to this group of girls. It's thoroughly frustrating to say the least.
Who knows, maybe you will discover and learn about a new girl you had no idea existed.
That's how I discovered Fany, but unfortunately she doesn't seem to be active. Too bad because she is so beautiful.
We made a trip to COEX mall in Gangnam the other day. It's the largest underground mall in Asia.
I didn't buy too much but managed to find some things that were affordable AND fit me. The last part is really spectacular because usually clothing in Korea is tailored to fit the small korean and japanese (tourist) women.
Also got some random little things to bring home for my family and friends.

The pink little box contains 6 of the best Macaroons I have ever eaten. Got them at a french bakery in Gangnam gu.

They had a variety of other baked goods too:

Coffee Eclaire

and something delicious with figs

These were our breakfasts on that day:

PSY also was there. Well in a way:

And apparently there is a "Legally Blonde" Musical.

It doesn't look so nice outside right now so I'm not sure what to do today. Would be a good idea to go back underground but the lack of Won keeps me from wanting. Credit Card usage always results in a 1% foreign transaction fee.
One more thing. I got this in my emails the other day from my dad. The woman on the left is my grandma. She had this little fawn as a friend when she was young. They found it when mowing the meadow. Unharmed, but alone. After she found it, it was clear that the mother wouldn't take it anymore becuse of the human smell on it.
She had to get up three times during the night to nurse it with a bottle until it was strong enough to eat. Later on it would live in the woods nearby but always stay close, come when called by it's name (Greti) and come in through the window by means of a piece of wood leaned against the wall and sleep beside her bed.
Or so she tells me.
