Oh oh oh! YAY! It's up.
Thank-you so so much for all the amazing comments on my new set, I really appreciate the feedback, so keep them coming! I only just got chance to check them because I just got back from my HOLIDAY (more about that next time)...
This set means a lot to me because it's the first one shot by my loverman, cubanheels, so if you like it, please tell him! I had so much fun shooting it, hopefully it shows...we've still got a little way to go as far as working together goes, but for a first attempt, I love it and I hope you do too!

Wish You Were Here

My weekend was fabulous, I went out in Brighton on Saturday night for the lovermans' birthday. Barbecue was eaten, and lots and lots of Sambuca was drunk. It was a weird night, the club was shit and full of stuck up twats...but where I'm from, we like to have a good time, so we brought a little slice of home to Brighton that night. I danced...a lot...to everything. I got VERY excited when they played I Luv You by Dizzee Rascal...and equally excited when they played Soulja Boy. Yeah, I know the dance. And what? Haha.
Anyway, there were some (probably 'famous', I dunno) American BMX pros out with us who turned out to be alright, although the last we saw that night of our friend Mayo was him luring one of the younger ones off into the night, telling him they were going to do 'bad, bad things'...the kid missed his flight home and no-one knows what happened. Go figure.
The next day we spent a pleasant Sunday wandering round the Lanes with some friends, after a fried breakfast. Well, everyone else had a fried breakfast, I had fishfingers, chips and beans. I'm dead posh, me. I spent an obscene amount of time in the Lego shop, rooting through the pieces trying to make Him an exact replica of me. I had to give up after a while as the novelty was wearing off and the end result looks nothing like me. It's the thought that counts though, right?
We checked into a hotel early afternoon and chilled out for a bit and then went out for a lovely meal. Mexican, my absolute favourite! Took ages to find one, but it was worth the walk, even though I got indigestion from eating so fast as we got there about 45min before they closed
I was determined to have my Mexican though! I was feeling a bit poorly so I got the mister to run me a bath and then it was an early night.
I'd arranged with the hotel to have them make us a picnic hamper on Monday so we ate that on the beach, it was so nice, just lying in the sun drinking wine, knowing everyone else was at work and we were soaking up the rays. Bliss. I had a little dip in the sea, and then we went and got ice creams. We spent the rest of the day just doing lovely, lovely things, like sitting in parks and strolling along the pier. Definitely one of the best days ever, and a really nice way to spent our anniversary.
I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine as much as I did! x

I really need to update this more often!
Work is going well, I'm on my first day off in 19 days right now, but I have the whole weekend off...me and cubanheels are going to Brighton for the weekend to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary, which should be good, it's lovely and sunny here so I'm looking forward to the beach! I might even have some photos to show you...
Besides work and the gym, I haven't really done much. I met Keith Chegwin in the street, that was nice, and I watched the whole first series of Black Books in one day. Nothing else of any great note to report!
I'm just massively looking forward to my holidays, Italy in 2 weeks, and Malta in July, Huzzah!

Busy busy busy!
Since February 5th I haven't spent more than 2 nights in a row in my own bed, and I've been all over the country (well, from Bradford to Dover, and plenty places in between) with work, and it's not over yet. The end is in sight though!
Taking advantage of a day at home to catch up on the internet, looks like there's a lot going on!
x
PS Oh, and yes, I got that sex. And it was gooood

He's on his way home, he's on his way home! California has finally relinquished it's claim on my loverman and he is as we speak flying over the Atlantic to be in our bed again.
Unfortunately, I won't be in it. My RM called me this morning telling me I was needed in Stafford this week. So, as his plane touches down, I'll be getting on a train in the opposite direction. Literally, we're going to miss each other by hours. I won't see him until Sunday, Saturday night at the earliest. Boooo.
I really do love my new job, and the traveling is only temporary, but this is a harsh blow. I really need to see him. I was so sick last week (I had a severe stomach bug and was vomiting uncontrollably for 9 hours straight, I got so dehydrated I had to be rushed into hospital in an ambulance and put on a drip overnight - in Watford of all places)
I just want a cuddle.
And I spent 4 days solid tidying the house for when he got home (anyone who knows me will know how CRAZY untidy I am...think of that, spread over a 3 bedroom house) and I know it'll mean a lot because the only thing we ever argue about is the mess...and now I'm not even going to get to see his face when he sees what I did. Seriously. I bought new bed linen, flowers, wooden...stuff, things that plug into the wall and smell nice...the whole nine yards.
I'd better get some AMAZING sex when I get home!

So my Valentines day wasn't quite what I would have liked - I had to say goodbye to my loverman as he left for California - but that's the way it goes. It's just another day, right?
This week I have mostly been excelling at my new job .
Technically I'm a general manager of a store which is due to open in May, but due to my ultimatum of an immediate start at the interview, they've employed me 4 months early. Seeing as I'm going to be opening a new store, and that's what I spend 60% of my time in my last retail job doing (opening new stores), at the moment I'm traveling round the country helping the store implementation team to help other managers open their stores. The company employs teams of people to do just that, they handle all the visual merchandising and layouts of the floor, and the training of the new lower level staff as well as going back to existing stores and 'sorting them out'...it's pretty much my ideal job, and I'm so excited that it exists. I'll have to stay at management level with the company for 2 years minimum before I can think about moving into that field, but it's something to work towards and I'm excited for the future!
Anyway, enough talk about work.
I want another session on my sleeve so bad, and I want to start my ribs. I can't WAIT to get paid!
What are you saving up for?

Everyone who has ever had a favourite band and gone to see them live has probably indulged in a little fantasy of 'what-if-i-get-to-meet-them-and-end-up-talking-to-them-and-maybe-hanging-out-with-them', right?
Well that's what I spent some of the last 2 weeks doing. Sorry if this journal entry is stupid and gushy and 12-year-old-girl at a backstreet boys concert-esque, I'm not the kind to be sycophantic in anyway, nor am I 'star-struck' or simpering...infact, it takes a hell of a lot to impress me or make me break my stride. But I can honestly say I'm slightly shell shocked by the events.
So...to cut a long story short, I went to see a band a few times on tour. I say a few times, it was actually 6 times in less than 2 weeks. Me, with the shortest attention span of anyone I know. There are VERY few situations I could put myself in repeatedly without getting bored beyond belief, and seeing this band perform live is one of them. Seriously. Even if I'd never had the chance to meet them and hang out, I still would have gone to every show I could have. I wish I'd gone to more. I don't think I could ever get bored of seeing them.
But onto the good stuff. Through casual acquaintances, past events, ba(n)d tattoos, and the internet, I ended up falling into a conversation with one of them. A conversation turned into a smoking session, which turned into backstage, which turned into drunken dancing and kebab eating. At the next show, I expected a casual 'oh hai, aren't you that girl from the last show?', but no, I found myself invited into the circle once again. I ended up staying at the house they were staying at that night, and the hotel next. Within a few days, I was acting like they were my actual friends. Oh, of course I was going to act like that, I'm a sad desperate little girl trying so hard to get 'in' with the band huh? But they were showing me the same degree of respect, treating me far more like a friend than a 'fan'. When people (jealous girls, snotty boys) showed me disrespect, they stood up for me. They defended my honour. A common courtesy perhaps, but unexpected nonetheless.
Oh, and at the last show I went to, my hometown show, they played my favourite song for me. Not only did they play it, but they had to teach it to the new guitarist during sound checks. Can you imagine having yr favourite band take the time and effort to actually do that for you? I'm still struggling to comprehend it. I have no idea if they have any idea how much that meant to me (even though I'm sure I drunkenly told them enough times), but if there was any doubt in my mind that these guys were possibly the only people deserving of being on the closest thing to a pedestal I know, it's gone.
It's funny because they're not even a super-famous band, and I'm not 'showing off' about it because there are very few people who will actually care, let alone be impressed, but to me, it meant the world. These are people I hold in the highest possible regard, and for good reasons, their talents and abilities have created the soundtrack to some of the most meaningful moments in my life, and last week only increased my respect for them. There's always the danger that when you meet people you have such a high opinion of, that they will 'ruin' it for you, but not in this case. They went above and beyond the call of duty to a 'fan' and it boggles my mind. My mind is officially boggled.
Thanks guys, you made me feel special for a few days. Now my tattoos mean even more to me than they did before

NB This blog was written with my past experiences of people in bands in mind. I am in no way trying to say that all musicians with even an ounce of fame are unapproachable, rude, and arrogant, nor that they will try only to get in yr pants, or assume you want to be in theirs, but sadly, that has been the case with a lot of people I have met who I previously looked upto. Sorry.

A rare day at home!
I'm been traveling all over the country, following my favourite band on tour and visiting friends. It's nice that I have the opportunity (see: time and money) to do this before I start my new job on Monday! I'm having a blast, I'm tired, hungover and bruised almost constantly but having a lot of fun.
I also worked the Brighton Tattoo convention with some of the other UK lovelies, it was fun, I booked up my next tattoo, and got to see old friends, and make new ones. I was looking forward to the afterparty, but alas, my ride wanted to leave early.
I have new hair, I'll post a picture soon. I'm part of a hair fashion show next week and they've bleached it ice white. I'm not sure if I like it, I prefer a golden blonde, this doesn't really suit my skin-tone! It's OK for the next week though.
Ah, so many exciting things coming up, the new job, new ink, holidays to Italy and Malta...life is pretty good right now.
What are you looking forward to?
