The video shows a lot of talent and is most definitely not boring! 
It's hard to imagine the band not wanting you, and in such an instance it would seem reasonable to blame their judgment rather than anything else. 
I know I promised you a dissertation, but I have some things to deal with ATM, and so complex a subject can't be squeezed into a paragraph or two, so your patience is appreciated. Rest assured I have not forgotten.

Also, if you haven't already read it, you might like Joe Meno's Hairstyles of the Damned it's like a modern take on The Catcher in the Rye where the Misfits play a central part in the protagonist's transformation/ journey. It's good.

There is no goddamn way ANYONE would not want you for ANYTHING with a video like that. I'm thinking about starting a band so I can get hot chicks to send me videos like that. All I need now is musical talent, instruments, something to sing about, and for people to want to show support for it. This might take more than an hour of thought to go into this one. Seriously, you'll make it. It's in the bag.
