I started at the bar/restaurant I work in exactly two years ago on Superbowl Sunday.
I came to this country on my own and I didn't (and still don't really..) know the language.
It is an English speaking bar and all the staff are immigrants from all over the world so very quickly my colleagues became my family, people who have been through what I was going through and we became very close.
I waitressed there for a year and a half, then for the last six months I have been bartending and finally now I got a promotion to full time manager.
My new job is in a neighboring city so it means much more travel and much more responsibility.
Considering my next birthday will be my *cough* 30th (yes, I said it) I guess it's time for me to once again become serious.
Here is a journey in pictures back in time to our crazy monthly theme parties we have at the bar.
70's party

Decorating for halloween

Riding the bus to the toga party (lots of strange looks on the way)

Purim (Israel's halloween)

Cowboys and Indians (with a very unflattering waitress pouch)

Christmas

Coconut Jam, lots of Reggae and Mai Tai's!

St. Patrick's Day

Pirate Party Aaaaaarrrrrrrrr ho ho ho and a bottle of rummmmm

Another Halloween, my brother and I came as dead Wayne and Garth (his make up had all rubbed off by the time this picture was taken)

Another Cowboys and Indians (this time I was a cowgirl)

Parties aside, this bar has a very serious history. This is a big reason why we are all so close there.
Even with so much going on with my work and it feels like it is all I do lately I managed to find time to do this last week

Cupid's Victim, coming soon ![]()
Much love <3

Next week will be my second of the three visits. Is it normal that I would rather be tattooed for hours then spend 40 minutes in the dentist chair?
It's not all bad though, I have lots of exciting things happening in the next few months.
Firstly, my favourite band of all time (yes, I said of ALL time) OPETH is coming to Israel on March 10.
I am obsessed with their new album and have never seen them before so I am counting the days....
Secondly, we are planning a trip to Berlin, Prague and Amsterdam for the last week of March (my birthday) and the first two weeks of April.
We will be at the Punk and disorderly festival in Berlin. Any of you gonna be there?
I just found out I am going to be a big sister, my dad, at the ripe age of 63 and his wife are pregnant!
I am turning the big 3-0 next year so that means when she is 18 I will be 48!
I will be the crazy big sister..
Lastly, Lavezzaro will be travelling to Israel next year so finally I will be able to shoot a new set, I am hoping to arrange a set in Europe when I am there so keep your eyes peeled in the (not so) near future.
Current obsession
That's all for now.
Much love!!!

What I miss most:
My friends, some are on SG:
The beautiful Hadess

The amazingly talented Talamia and miss Lynx

Miss LaTara

Tarion, Hadess and I sharing a loving moment

Last but not least, my bestie for life Voodou

I miss my South African music
I miss:
Good curry
Good chinese food
Braai (bbq)
Swimming pools ( I have a beach but it's not the same)
My favourite place in the country
Beauty...
The world at its best
I miss smiling at a person you don't know and saying hello on the street (common practice in S.A)
Howzit! (hello)
Lekker! (cool)
Biltong (South African cured meat, similar-but MUCH better than jerkey)

There is so much more that I miss.
I am so happy here in Tel Aviv and have built a great life for myself, full of love and happiness.
I will always miss SA though.
You can take the girl out of Jozi but you can't take Jozi out of the girl.
Before I go, give my hometown girl Pyke some love on her set
This lady is so beautiful and sweet, she is super active on the site and totally deserves to go pink.

Much love

So inspired by my beautiful friend Voodou I started drawing.
I am very rusty and they turned out very amateur and child like but I thought I'd share them with you anyway...
Voodou

(I had a really hard time with the hands here and eventually gave up)
Fany

Prussia

And lastly, a self portrait

I don't know why the images are the wrong way round... I am an iPhone retard.. :/
Anyway, that is my small attempt at being an 'artiiist' (said in a French accent)
Peace out

It all started with this piece in my inner arm

Done by Ryan Busta Boltoon back in South Africa a couple of years ago.
Inspired by this song:
I decided to go with the original inspiration of The Beatles for the rest of the piece.
Here is the finished tattoo (excuse the poor quality images)

Inspired by these songs:
Done by the brilliant Snir Zelman who will be working in Germany from November
I get a lot of 'You must really love The Beatles' and those sort of comments. I do really love them, I grew up on their music. More than that though, I love their message of love and peace.
I am a hippie at heart
So I woke up this morning on my day off and took pictures throughout my day to show you what my life here in Tel Aviv is like.
First thing I do in the morning is take my boy Blitz out for a walk
This is him looking adorable with those big ears of his

Saying hi to the neighborhood dogs

Took Blitz home and went to meet a friend for lunch. These are the pictures I took on my walk there.

Lunch was so good I forgot to take a picture of the food...

So I took pictures of the deli instead

And ma giirrrl

Then I got onto the bus

What was I listening to you ask?
Arrived at my destination and proceeded to do this for three hours

Cancelled dinner with a friend, I was so exhausted after the tattoo I slept for a couple of hours and that brings me to the present moment where this is my view (and will remain my view until tomorrow)

In other news Spencer Tunick is coming to Israel next month to do an installation at The Dead Sea showcasing the importance of water in this region and creating art that is a celebration of humanity that brings world attention to the disappearing Dead Sea.
I applied to participate and am so excited because I got my confirmation email today!!!
I absolutely can't wait!
Post a picture of your day, I would love to see where you come from!!

Next session 21 July ![]()
He is so sweet and cute, three months old.
He is a rescue so we don't know what breed he is (some kind of mix)

We named him Blitz (It means lightning in Afrikaans and German)

I think he looks a little like a Pitbull, the lady we adopted him from said he will grow to about 25 Kilos.
Anyone have ideas on what mix he is?
It was my one year anniversary recently.
My man gave me the sweetest gift...

It is summer here and Tel Aviv is beautiful.
I work so much I hardly have time for the beach though and I am starting my half sleeve at the end of the month and then the beach won't be an option.
Not the best timing I guess but it will be worth it.
I will update with pictures when I go for my first session.
Lots of love
