Reality check.
Sometimes you just need to remind yourself that you are not really all that special.
You're not better than anyone else just because you are prettier or smarter or have more money or popularity.
You're still just a bundle of atoms floating through space with little to no sense of purpose, and maybe no purpose at all.
And consequently, no one is better than you or more important than you.
We have a very natural need to be validated and acknowledged.
Just step outside for a minute, when the sky is nice and clear at night, and look up.
You're a tiny little figure in a vast universe that you will never truly understand.
You're just a piece in something much bigger than you.
That's truly how I feel. I'm a piece of the universe and the universe lives within me.
At the same time we are both boring and wondrous creatures.
Needed to remind myself that I'm a pretentious asshole sometimes and really have no reason to be.
Oh how we do grow into ourselves.
