I have EXTREMELY low expectations for any Star Wars movie made by Disney. I think it'll just end up being silly because Disney will try to make it appeal to a broader audience than the original fan base for the sake of commerciality. I would love to be proved wrong though.. I guess only time will tell.

while I'm hoping, on the one hand, that they do better (MUCH better!) than the prequels Lucas himself failed on (in my POV) - on the other hand this IS Disney and they have, as someone already mentioned, the habit of making it "commercially appealing."

It was a shock to me, too. They have done a pretty good job at not messing up The Muppets, so maybe there is hope.

I'd just like to point out that Disney bought Marvel, and since that purchase we've gotten some spectacular movies, whereas everything George Lucas has done lately has been horrific.
I've got nothing but high hopes that this will be a new age of awesome Star Wars goodness.

But will Princess Leia become one of the Disney Princesses?
