Google "Airsoft guns", they make them in all types of models to look like the real thing, but they modify them to shoot those little plastic bbs. We've used them to great effect for movie props before.

If I knew what Dragon Con was, yeah, I'd go as a zombie for ya. Plastic/'fake' weapon wise.... how realistic do you want them to be?
