There's so much going on right now. I had a weekend-long hangover which was a total waste of time and energy (note to self: red wine and frozen margaritas don't mix) but I'm living a good life. Baroness are back in Europe for a couple of weeks so I went to see them in Tilburg the other night which was really great. Their new record is phenomenal so I highly recommend checking that out. (I was out on the road with them for a little while last year, you can read about that here if you missed it.)
Last night my mother and I saw The Sound of Insects, a fucked up documentary/art film by Peter Liechti about a guy who commits suicide by starving himself. It's based on a real story, making it that much more disturbing. He lasted for 63 days and his body weighed 38 kilograms when they found him. It's worth checking out if you're into that kinda thing. Watch the trailer below.
In other (not as depressing news), tomorrow is my first introduction class in religion studies at the University of Amsterdam, so that's exciting. There's an open day in April and the course officially starts after the Summer but I've pretty much already made up my mind that this is what I'm going to do for the next couple of years. Also, my friends Aux Raus are playing a record release show tomorrow night at Paradiso which will definitely be a rager. Come hang out if you're in the area.
The next week is going to be really crazy with a Sun 0))) show, Sights & Sounds from Canada staying over at my house and seeing Baroness again. February will be equally hectic/awesome but I'll fill you in when I can say more about that. One day at a time, right? Oh, and before I forget, keep those eyes peeled for a new set I shot with the fabulous Albertine in Brooklyn last Summer that should be in Member Review really soon. Here's a preview.
