An Actual Update:
I'm living with my childhood bestie, housesitting with her until June.
In June, we're getting an apartment and I will have MY OWN bedroom for the first time in a year.
I just got a second job serving at a pretty nice restaurant, and get to start saving for school. It doesn't even open until April; I'm super excited to start at a brand new place with a whole brand new staff.
Akron finally transferred 50 of my credits, so I'm starting at Kent in the fall. My intention is anthropology, but if I do that, I need to be sure I can follow through with grad school.
Suddenly, I drink more tea than coffee these days, which I think is a sign of growing up.
I had a month of debilitating headaches which had me bed-or-couch-ridden for half the time, missing work and various appointments, unable to read or write except for small bouts. After two weeks of detective work with the help of a savvy friend, I realized that it was the Sweet & Low I had begun using since staying here. I've never used it before, and apparently I have a terrible reaction to it. Unfortunately, when I didn't know better, I was attempting to alleviate or soothe the pain with coffee or tea -- both sweetened with the culprit.
So I've been better for a week or two now, and haven't stopped reading and writing and spending time in the sun.
I've decided I'm not in a place where I can have a healthy relationship, though admittedly I'm not sure I'll know the "ready" feeling when it comes. But for now, I need to narrow my focus on all of the things upcoming in the next few months and capitalizing at every chance. And even at my best, relationships get in the way of this, as I tend to be come thoroughly engrossed and entangled and put that person before other priorities.
So, no mas.
