I have a headache this morning... ugh... shouldn't have drunk vodka last night. I didn't drink much, but I always have to drink a tonne of water or I get dehydrated REAL easy...

I went out to a new night in town; "swanscene". This guy I know called Dave has started to run it at one of the local pub/venues... it's for alternative bands in swansea.

It was very cool. He was SO energetic + intense. Everytime he introduced a band he was like "WE GOTTA MAKE THIS FUCKING WORK, PEOPLE. THERE'S BEEN TOO MUCH APATHY IN THIS TOWN FOR TOO LONG"

Ya know the wierd thing?! He's totally right. It's crazy. There's no where in this town for decent punk rock bands. Or other alt. bands for that matter. Save Indie bands; there's a whole 'guild' for that type of music, but if you're a little bit 'harder' you don't fit in.

It was really well organised, surprisingly. + there was even quite a big turn out. The bands that played were pretty good. The first band were real good except for the singer. She was the only girl there, but unfortunately she didn't deserve to be on stage She sucked, big time. She didn't even LOOK like she fitted in. She was kinda townie looking. She just warbled over ALL of their songs + didn't seem to know when to shut up. Anyway, then there was Alpharise, who I like anyway, + we've played with them before.

Then the last band 100% disapointed me. They went through the nu-metal motions. Copying their favourite bands, like linkin park + the lost prophets etc. Now, don't get me wrong, you can like those bands. But I KNOW it doesn't take much to rip that music off + they sounded EXACTLY like them. I mean, does it really take that much to try + be original?!

Although, apart from this it was a good night. I'm glad there's now somewhere for me to go out to again

+ we're playing there in two weeks. FUN

*brrr* I'm so very cold... I got Final Fanatasy X!! wooop! I've been waiting ages to afford this - thank heaven for Birthdays... I played a bit the other night + at first it was a bit strange with the speaking n' all but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

We had band practise tonight + I must say, we sucked ass. Especially our drummer. Things are tough right now. His grandfather died recently + we keep telling him he doesn't have to practise if he doesn't want to, but he continues to show up late + play really bad. I'd rather he didn't come at all + spend some time getting through this. We have a gig in two weeks. We're headlining. It's going to be hillarious because we're going to play terribly, unless a miracle happens between then and now. Maybe I'm just being a bit negative, but everytime we practise the worse it gets + the looser we sound + the more the drums go in + out of time. If he needs his space I wish he'd just tell us instead of 'soldiering on' + making the band life intolerable. Argh. I'm not being heartless I promise, I really feel for him, but he needs to be honest about his feelings + commitment.

I sound like I'm talking about a relationship!

The Devils play tonight + I'm looking forward to listening... we've had such a good record so far this season *touch wood*... + Corey Schwab (the backup goaltender) played amazingly last night - go Corey!! I wish I got to watch it though, rather than listen to it...

It's not long til Christmas + I don't have much money... I guess my family will have to put up with handmade pressies this year - I'm sure they'll understand. Don't know what to do about my brothers though, I can't think of anything *boyish* to make. I'll make some extra things + sell them on eBay + buy them something

It was a strange birthday. I remember when I was a kid that every birthday I actually felt a year older. But now I still feel 17! I think it's got something to do with wanting/not wanting to be older!! Ha ha!

So, now I'm supposed to officially be an adult. When exactly am I supposed to feel like an adult? Despite all my adulthood responsibilities (funny how most of them relate to money!), I still don't actually feel like one...

I went to see '28 days later' last night as well. It is 100% the scariest thing I have EVER seen. It actually made me shake + cry with fear. I almost left. You can cally me a wuss/pussy or whatever you want, but it was horrible! It was an amazingly good movie, but I was scared to shit! I really wish I could put into words how much it scared me. I can't though... I almost left because I just couldn't take it and I puked. I wonder if I'll ever feel that much fear again in my life. I really hope I don't. Only now I've realised the true meaning of the word terrified! *lol*

I got some great pressies too (I know, I am materialistic!)... I My boy got me a set of 4 (yes 4!!!) Danelectro mini effects pedals (sorry this is guitar geekiness!). + my friends put together + got me The Lord Of the Rings special edition DVD with bookends!! They know I'm a dork, bless 'em...

So that was my 21st... no big partying or drinking... and you know what? I think I really enjoyed it because of that...

Isn't it sad when you check your email + for the last couple of days you haven't even had any junk mail? What's even worse is that I actually CARE about that!

Grrr... This damn computer will be the death of me!! Such a stressful day... a couple of weeks ago I had to format my hard drive + reinstall windows because of an irreperable (sp) problem. Then it happened *again* today. So I ended up having to do it again + buy the XP update 'cos it turns out to be a software conflict with '98... well I was having terrible memory problems with win98 anyway. I didn't have that money to spend. Oh well... another thing to pay for sometime in the future..

We had band practise tonight + I finally managed to 'get' the bass line I've been having so much trouble with. The guys also nagged me to upload the pictures from our video shoot... well I did to my site anyway; the band site will just have to wait! I'm quite pleased with the way some of the pictures turned out... I love taking photos. Pity I haven't had much time to play around with them and manipulate them...

I got a kitty hat from Vancouver a couple of days ago - I don't think I've stopped wearing it since (except for showers!) + it smells of my hair...
