Hey! So there's a new free HACK/SLASH webcomic you can check out over at HalloweenMan.com. Drew Edwards and David Caldeon did all the work on this one. It's a crossover tale of "Hack/Slash vs. Halloween Man." Perfect little seasonal story to get you ready for Halloween.

Anyone been carving pumpkins yet? I think I'm making a stencil this week. Thinking of doing up an Invader Zim jack-o-lantern.

Hey, this is the last time I'll bug ya on here. I promise! But there are only 7 days of voting left for the Spike TV Scream Awards, where HACK/SLASH is nominated for "Best Comic Book." So just wanted to throw this voting link out there once more for the home stretch. I know we've got the readers out there -- especially including the HACK/SLASH ANNUAL from earlier this year! So we're hoping we can get another ten thousand votes in to push us into the final week, and hopefully into the awards show. OK, so tell all your friends, these next two months are going to be a bit of a headache for HACK/SLASH because we are going to have to distribute #16 & #17 outside of Diamond Comic Distributors. Here's the lowdown:

Re-Animator Controversy forces HACK/SLASH Out of Diamond

Basically, a new company formed and filed a trademark which challenges things the Re-Animator film folks have used. They sent a cease and desist letter to HACK/SLASH's distributor, so now we've got to roll up our sleeves and get this book to readers and retailers ourselves.

If you know you're comic book retailer, let them know! The series is only going to be available here for issues 16 & 17.

Hey, guess what. I've got more news about free online Hack/Slash comic action. ComicMonsters.com is going to be syndicating all of HACK/SLASH #15 -- one page every day. It's the first issue of our in-continuity 3-issue crossover with the Re-Animator. It also happens to be the origin story about my father everyone's been querying about for years. So check it out.
