edit... looking into buying a brand new bike seems sort of economically retarded... since after i put 1000 miles on it it will be worth like half the value... so i think we're gonna check out some used ones. im really interested in this 09 250r thats pretty local... it's that all black that i want sooo we'll see what happens! weeeeee~!
PS........I MAY BE GOING TO CHILE TO VISIT THE LOVELY ANEMONA] and all the other beautiful south american SG's! the dates i'm thinking are 8/6-8/30..... i would love for all of you lovely ladies who either live in chile already or in surrounding countries to come and hang out and party for a few weeks, i think it would be great if we could all get together and have a nice time. message me if you'll be in the santiago area during those dates! can't wait=)

I've been trying to buy a street bike probably since I was 18 but have never gotten around to it money wise sadface! I've also ridden dirt for awhile too, but yea I've done some research over the years bc I've been like THIS close away to making the purchase so many times. From what I've gathered... don't get a brand new bike for your first... they depreciate in value as soon as you drive it off the lot, just like cars, and as a little person (like me) haha we'll most likely drop it a couple times.
Also. I've heard mixed reviews about starting on a 250. Some have said it's too slow, and as a beginner you'll get yourself into trouble and it won't have enough power to get you out. But I think that depends on how light you are... and I am assuming you're really light haha so it probably has more umph than a 300lb dude. Personally I think I'll start with an older R6 or gsxr600.
One more thing... take the motorcycle safety course bc it lowers your insurance!
I am super jealous you're getting one! Hopefully I'll be right there with you in the near future

Go for it... I love riding my bike. Its the best feeling of freedom! The only thing I have felt that better was skydiving. But nothing beats riding down the coast or across the country side and flying down the highway. While everyone else is stuck in their lanes, your free to move around and in between them! I love it!
