The 22-20s are playing tonight at Southpaw in Brooklyn. If you don't know them, then you should and if you do know them then you should go. Although perhaps you should just go anyway. They're fun. What a cool birthday treat!

I'm utterly smitten with the beautiful kitten that is Doll -- she's amazingly full of life and I'm already developing a total crush on her. *wink* Yea for new friends.

So I'm utterly in love with the wonderful and amazing Stephanie Tamez at New York Adorned who has done all my tattooing. She's the goddess of tattoo artists in New York City as far as I am concerned. If you want ink done beautifully, go see her.
My boy-friend was generous enough to take a break from his work and come be moral support during the session, but admitted that he wanted a beer after it was finished...so one beer turned into two bars and a few drinks and then we ended up at a BDSM party where lots of fun was had by all (especially me!) He's so wonderful! :::shivers::: Makes my feel all happy just being near him.

My bestest girl-friend and I just bought tickets to Glasgow for May! I'm leaving my job (I'm currently an editorial manager for a fru-fru arts program), going to spend two weeks with her and then spend the summer visiting family and friends and doing more nightclub work before starting law school at the end of August. I figure that once I start law school the time for play will be greatly reduced and I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to just up and go to Scotland for two weeks. I'm really excited. Plus, it will be the first time that I've seen my lovely friend since August 2004 when she moved to Florida to go to a special effects make-up school (she's the most amazing make-up artist already and this was the last major school thing she needed to add to her portfolio.) She's amazing. I love her. I miss her. New York isn't the same without her. Plus, she's coming to visit for almost a whole week before we go and since I will have just quit my job we'll have plenty of time to just be together. Yea!
On the homefront. The lovely Doll and I are having brunch on Sunday and then I'm going to help her with her knitting. She's amazing and suave and full of life. We'll drink tea and knit and be two of the cutest non-grannies knitting in Brooklyn. :::giggle:::
And tomorrow...I get my new tattoo!!! If you want to see the inspiration for it...check out the picture ofBernini's "Daphne and Apollo". I'm a huge Bernini fan. I doubt that is what my art history professor wanted me to get from that class...but I did... His sculpture makes me cry it is so beautiful!

I can't possibly be the only one who gets *so* excited before getting a new tattoo that she can't sleep, right? I just got an early birthday surprise. I've been on a waiting list for the longest time to see the tattoo artist who did my back again. Well, today she called me up -- she had a cancelation for Saturday night! And this is the first Saturday night that I haven't been working in like 4 months! How lucky! It is fate. Divine providence. Meant to be. There is no other possible explaination for that "coincidence." Right? :::boing, boing, boing:::

Dear Saint Valentine,
I don't have much issue with snakes, but I would really REALLY appreciate if you could, say, drive some of the more idiotic morons that I have to work with (you know the ones I mean) out of my universe today. Or take them off my projects. At the very least, fry their laptops and blackberries and VM for a few days so I can dig myself out of the latest mess they've created, because I cannot handle the volume
of complete and utter crap they send over in the guise of "edits" that is threatening to eat my desk and brain. (I swear, when I start my own company I will FORCE the employees to pass a basic arithmetics test. And grammar. Basically if they can't pass 4th grade, I won't hire them).
In return, I promise not to worship any gods (thereby bypassing that whole pesky "false gods" issue), to openly lust after instead of coveting my neighbor's spousal unit(s), and to leave the killing up to you. (especially if you help me out - that will SERIOUSLY reduce my homicidal tendencies).
Now I know you, St. Valentine, are not the big dude upstairs himself, but I figure that being a Saint gives you a few strings to pull. And hey - today IS your day. So any help would be appreciated.
